Been listening to LP all afternoon in a playlist I made of songs that I think feature Chester in a great way.

I fell off enjoying their last few records, but damn I still love them. Definitely regret not going to the Hunting Party tour.

I think a lot of people saw "One More Light" in a different way after his passing. So many decried it as "too poppy".

I remember finding out because I was supposed to see them and blink-182 in New York that week. He was such a great voice. Hope LP continues to make music in some form even though the loss is gargantuan.

Time flies. I still find it hard to believe he's gone, the same with Chris Cornell. Damn.

LP were a big part of my transition from kid to teenager - them being the first band I actually liked outside of the music my parents listened to. My musical tastes changed rapidly afterwards in a period of 3 or so years (from 1999 to 2003, roughly) and despite me not being really a Linkin Park fan afterwards, I always had a soft spot for Hybrid Theory. Soft spot that included happy memories.

RIP Chester. Hope you're happy and at peace in the great beyond.

The Linkin Park Meteora album cover was one of the first posters I can remember being on my wall when I finally got my own room. My first band tee was Linkin Park. I never got to see them live.

Last Thanksgiving MTVLive was playing their concert from Spain. I don't know why but I cried while watching the whole thing. Only way I can explain it is we all focus on people or ourselves that have overcome their issues. I'm not saying that's wrong but sometimes we forget the people who didn't make it to the other side. Chester and the bands music was a comfort throughout a lot of bad shit in my life. Somehow I made it to the other side and it's just really sad that Chester didn't.

What I wrote that day five years ago:

"Man. I haven't been much of a fan for a while now, but like many others, my formative years were defined by Linkin Park. I was obsessed, I spent day and night on their fan club forum, I read everything I could find about the band, I listened constantly over and over again. I was lucky to see them 6 times and to have had the opportunity to meet them at 3 of those, including my first concert ever at age 12 in March 2003. I was in awe, especially meeting Chester. He is one of the main reasons I decided to sing in school. He was an idol to me and so many others. I can't help but feel personally impacted by this...just sick to my stomach. I'll never love a band as passionately as I did them during that time. I pray that his family and loved ones can find peace eventually."

At the first meet and greet mentioned there, Chester was so kind to my fat awkward 12 year old self. He was my hero for a time in my life, my absolute idol. Still is so hard to reconcile him being gone. RIP

Honestly, I had an eerie feeling something was wrong after that performance. Last time Chester couldn't finish a song were the first times he performed Breaking The Habit live when Mike wrote the song for him, instantly knew something was wrong. Hell, even Brad looks up at him in the middle of the song.

It's a very good pop album with some standout tracks. Stuff like "Battle Symphony" and "Sharp Edges" are in my top LP tracks.

Meteora is an all-time great album.

I met Chester and his family in 2011 while I was working an extra job at a Corn Maze/Fall Festival in Mesa, AZ. Didn't approach him as a fan, but I think he knew I recognized him. We chatted for a bit because one of his kids was too scared to do the maze so he waited with them at the entrance for awhile before they went off somewhere else. I like to think he gave me those few minutes because he knew I wanted to say something but not come off like an idiot. Really nice guy, seemed like a good Dad.
