Also FortniteTracker has the new challenges up. Looks pretty straightforward again.

So if I'm reading it right, they changed the rarity colors of the shotguns but didn't change how common they are at all? Seems kinda pointless unless I'm misunderstanding and the pump actually will be a little rarer.

Pump will be green and blue so it will be more rare, but tac all got knocked down so it has white through blue which makes shotties in general still pretty common.

Pump atleast needed that much done, the weapon is way too OP to be so common. Guess we'll see if it makes a noticeable difference. They didn't change anything about the damage/handling which means the 'new' blue pump is just the old green pump but more rare.

Isn't the drop rate determined by color?

I thought that was the whole point of colors in general.

I can understand why they made the change. It lets new people know that the white pump is not shit and is actually a strong weapon you want to have over the green tactical shotgun which is now white.

Will Epic sell two male bunny costumes that vary only with the mask or will it be something that can be switched out? That's some balls right there. I guess they were able to get away with the skier costume that differed on color/flag.

This week's challenges aren't too bad. I might not get that explosive weapons challenge as I usually don't get kills with grenades/rockets. I still need the trap kill. I had a great set up at Snobby shores with three traps the other day with the circle closing in on it a couple of times, but nothing tripped.

Saw a gif of the guided rocket in action on Reddit. I can see this changing things up quite a bit.

Well that thing looks absolutely miserable to go up against. Late game about to get even worse.

I expect the lifespan of the rocket is probably gonna get nerfed real quick. That's ridiculous.

I mean... if you see it coming, it's easy to block and the person firing it is stationary. But if you're in a protected position and you just want to scout for enemies, it's pretty damn strong.

Late game about to get even worse.
It would be objectively worse than a normal rocket launcher or grenade launcher late game. Slow fire rate since you can't fire a new one until that one explodes. And then you gotta reload. The best way to use it in a direct fight would be to fire it and then immediately cancel guidance turning it into a dumb rocket. So you can reload and... you know... move.

If you "detach" from the rocket can you reload or do you still need to wait for it to explode?

Seems like it'll be strong in a 1v1 situation atleast.

I mean, in that clip there he kills off 2 of that final 10 people who probably never even saw him fire the damn thing. Sure looks like you can hunker down in the smaller circles, fire off a rocket and just start patrolling looking for people to pick off just because the duration is so ridiculously long.

It's also just even more explosives added in to the late game. Something I already feel like there's too much of, although that's more of an ammo capacity issue than anything else I guess.

I wonder if this will make people move away from the simple 3 high 1x1 forts you see so often with the increased chance of getting one of these dropped right down on them. Maybe some more elaborate forts with roofs / windows being used a bit more?

Bit of a weird question, but now I feel a bit bad and want to make sure I did not steer a friend of mine in the wrong direction...

I am 43 years old. Among my friends from high school I was, am, and will always be known as the video game player. As such a decent amount of my friends who have kids now usually reach out to me with questions about games. Almost always it revolves around are they appropriate for their kids to play.

So my boy last night reached out to me last night asking me about this game.
Specifically, if it was okay for his 11 year old son.
I told him I believe it was, it was my understanding it was more on the cartoon side of violence, etc. etc. Thing is I have never played it. I have only seen screens and videos.

My good word was enough for him, but now I feel a little bad. I did tell him I never played it and I was just basing it on what I knew of the game. It is my understanding this game is a result of the popularity of PUBG but it is also more playful and not as serious in tone.

So really I just want to double check for my friend. Is this game okay for an 11 year old to play?
I have no problem going back to him and saying I did some research and was wrong if indeed I was.
TIA

I just realized that the change they made to structure damage is a nerf to ghost peaking with brick walls. It needed to be done. It was causing a lot of people to hide safely behind their walls but still get easy snipes. I don't think Epic ever intended for wall damage to be used that way.

It's also just even more explosives added in to the late game.
I don't think it's MORE. When you open a chest or a supply drop, each weapon TYPE has a % chance to drop. From there, you then have a % chance to get one of the items of that type. So the chance to get explosives (grenade or rocket launcher) wouldn't be increased just because they're adding a new weapon type. You'll just see more variety in the explosives used late game.

They just brought everything about wall mechanics straight from PVE, they didn't really consider all that much about them or at least not worthy of changing. I think they could make the structures better.

The guided rocket needs changing NOW. 13 seconds is just ridiculous. I was well in position just now and was killed by someone nowhere near me. They were just sat there in a bush, spamming it. All you need to do is head straight up and back down again. And it's far too agile to be shot down at close range.

Can't you just build a box? Doesn't seem that hard to counter.

Can you not HEAR them? Normal rockets you can hear across the map. I've seen people react to them while running around and build so surely they make some kind of sound?

It is a game about shooting and killing with realistic looking weapons, so to many people, that is not okay for an 11 year old. That is, however, tempered by the fact that there is absolutely no blood/gore, and in fact, the game implies that you are just an avatar, not a real person. When you die, your character model is digitally beamed up or something like that. No bodies are left behind. So it depends on the parent's level of concern.

Finally caved in and started playing bout three days ago. I just got my first win ever in a match of solo a few minutes ago. Kinda shaking right now! Officially got the hype!

I wish you could shoot down the regular ones as well. Keep it consistent and have better counter to rockets imo. I'd love to see some RPGs blow up in their users face cause they wanted to spam them while they were being shot. Make it happen epic. Make that a thing!

Watching people stream today and they're still struggling with Pump delays. I'm hoping that Epic is just going to be like "look, there are a lot of bugs with the pump so we're just going to vault it until it's fixed."

And they never fix it.

Wait did they silently nerf pump shotgun? (Since they said there is no changes for shotguns on the patch notes)

Does anybody gets a weird rumble in the controller from time to time for no reason? This is on PS4 but I just asked my son that plays on XBOX and he gets the rumble too.

How plausible is it to kill something with 100hp with a small hitbox when it'll probably be 10 feet in front of you before you see it?
I assume it's going to be loud as shit, just like the regular rocket.

It doesn't seem all that strong to me. The rocket is slow and can be shot down and you can't advance or anything while guiding it, which is one of the big strengths of the regular launcher. The reactions to it feel a lot like the initial reactions to the minigun, which barely anyone picks up now that people know how to deal with it.

Looking at stuff like this, I have no doubts they'll probably nerf the guided rocket pretty quickly.

https://www.reddit.com/r/FortNiteBR/comments/881fel/the_guided_missile_is_hella_op/

Not to mention he has 54 rockets in that clip, which is a whole different issue.

They should limit the max amount of rockets you can carry for the Rocket Launcher and Guided Missile to 5 max. Is annoying when they keep spamming unlimited rockets at you and is a huge disadvantage.

And um... yeah. Just... give it time. I fail to see why I should worry about this. I'd rather go against this than a normal rocket launcher. Here's what's going to happen 90% of the time. Thing is HELLA loud.

Except that guy is dumb. There was no reason he had to even show his head. Hunker down in your base, shoot it up and make them play a rocket shooting game while you also get vision on where they are.

If he took two steps backwards he doesn't die there.

The silenced pistol is OP!

AAAHHHHH THE MINI-GUN IS OP!

AHHHHHH the Hand Cannon is OP! Double hand cannon is the new double pump!

AHH the heavy shotgun is OP!

And um... yeah. Just... give it time. I fail to see why I should worry about this. I'd rather go against this than a normal rocket launcher. Here's what's going to happen 90% of the time. Thing is HELLA loud.

It's being shot head on with the player exposed... I don't think that is how it'll be used. I don't know and doubt it'll be OP though. It'll counter certain tactics and there will be tactics that counter it. I just can't imagine it being stronger than the fire and forget type at the very least.

Thank you both for the reply.

In regards to the second response, my friend is good with shooting, etc. It is blood/gore, etc.
My friend and his family live in Staten Island. It is safe to assume the kid sees stuff on his bus ride to school most kids do not see in their lifetime. Unfortunate, but also the reality of their situation.

Thanks again. Just wanted to triple check and make sure I was not doing my friend wrong.
