The new game is fantastic and it's VR mode is better than anything I could have asked for when I played the originals, but I can't imagine just sitting on a completed gem like that without ever planning on releasing it.

They've always been a subcontractor since the NES days since they started out as ghost developer (similar to Micronics and some others). Starfy was their attempt at breaking out of that mold with Nintendo.
