Not the best but those blood splatters that would stay on the floor in Loaded on ps1 were a pretty big deal back then
man i miss games with blood splatter and gibs. i dont think any game will beat soldier of fortune 2
Gears is awful now.

Red Dead Redemption 2 has the best player damage model I've seen. Arthur gets bruised, scrapes, cuts and it never looks the same, all the blood spray actually stays on arthur's clothes, and crazily enough, the same can happen to any NPC. Every cut Arthur makes with a knife is shown. I love getting into fist fights in this game just to see how bloody both Arthur and the NPC's get. It's crazy.

I never played the final game, but the blood in Overgrowth really impressed me when they showed off tech demos. It's still a pretty unique blood system even now.

Bonus points if you do it with the sawed-off shotgun.
Man, gaming has come a long way since Mortal Kombat 1 on Genesis. That'd be hilarious to send all this shit into a time machine for those crazed 90's era politicians.
