And to put things in perspective, we've got four electro five stars. Four.
One is a day one character and the last one was in 2022.

It's kind of why if she is a 5 star, I'm hoping she's a BOL enabler rather than another DPS because it'd at least give her a distinct niche.
The problem is Raiden exists. A character that is both flexible and stronger than the other options. It's hard to know where to take 5* electro characters in that scenario outside of specialists and interesting gameplay mechanics.

Some of the leaks have described her as a healer with damage output like Kokomi, so I could see her being an enabler for the new artifact set plus be able to dish out some off-field damage. I just like her design and want her, even if bow characters are not my favourite. (Although I do love my Yelan.)
I've got my C2 Cyno and a C0 Raiden who I use a lot, plus an unlevelled Yae Miko waiting to be levelled. So for now, I am good with electro 5 stars. :D But I am interested to see what Clorinde will do, but since she wields a gun that instantly drops my interest.
I think there's scope to have a pure DPS out damage Raiden. I doubt they'll release an electro character with all her utility again, but they can make other characters attractive.

Indeed... the oath I've sworn to the Worthy Wolves has never been a "temporary" one. I will be running on empty by the time Clorinde arrives so I dont really have an opinion on what id like her to be. Whatever she is, she looks cool so hopefully I get lucky with her.

I mean, given if you get her C2+. I feel like a C0 Raiden really isn't that hard to outdo.
I've been farming them nonstop for months it feels like and buying them from the monthly shop resets. I just always need them.
I used up all of mine when I double crowned Cyno. Then Xianyun needed some. Then Albedo needed them. Now Klee needed them. Qiqi needs them for further talents. I am so tired of those scrolls but most of my favourite characters all need them. xD

Personal damage sure. But the only thing that matters is team damage. And when your main team is built around 3 of the top 6 characters in the game and you're #7 it's kind of rough to build something that goes beyond that. Especially when all those other members are free. I'm not surprised that they've taken 2 years to think about it after they already gave electro a massive boost with dendro. We'll see if their answer is anything.

If Sigewinne actually looked like a melusine she would be a guaranteed pull, even if she was the worst character in the game or a support for a specific character I don't have.
As she is now, she is a never pull even if she was the best character in the game.
I just remember I forgot Nilou which covers the Bloom niche. So yeah, hopefully Sigewinne is designed for BoL or Electro-Charged.

If Sigewinne's ugly Care Bear ass is the BiS for Arle/Clorinde I'll be mad as hell, it may even convince me not to pull for Clorinde
If she's standard I'll accept it, at least she's something to lose to, but I'd rather have a sub par team for Arle than pull for her to a 50/50 let alone a guarantee

My goodness, I don't recall meeting this shady individual so their time in the group must've been brief and embarrassingly forgettable before they swiftly resigned in shame. Love Yelan, one of my faves and obviously a popular character… which makes it all the more disappointing that she's basically dropped off the face of the earth after The Chasm in 2.6.

I've crafted the Fontaine book that has BOL and found it disagreeable, really didn't like being hit with the anti healing box even if it was trivial to remove, it was annoying. The risk reward aspect of it was skewed with the strong feeling of "get this off me", like being nettled by a cactus. If future units and/or Natlan are going all in on BOL, they're gonna need incentives besides number go up to get me on board.

I think BOL is an interesting idea, but it feels like we started off with a bunch of universal characters, then we got more niche characters and now we're getting characters with actual in-built flaws.
The flip-side should be that these new characters are super strong but that remains to be seen.
Arle is a cool character but if you look at how she works and the amount of convoluted mechanics she has her in her kit, just for the end result to be damage, it makes you wonder what's the point.
There was talk of Raiden above, and she's kind of a great example. You use her skill and get several benefits. Pop her burst, you get damage and energy, just simple, beneficial stuff.
For all the guff written into Arle's kit, it basically means, she can't be healed and her damage drops off over time - she also needs some form of interruption resistance and/or a shield as a result.
So remove all the chatter and she basically starts with a handicap, but you're not, seemingly, rewarded with amazing damage.
I just think BOL is one of those mechanics where you don't actively engage with it, really, but it hurts you and it just exists in the background to strong-arm team building and distribute damage.
That said, I'm not against that in principle. I've never been against niche characters and I really like the idea of high risk, high reward characters. But that reward doesn't seem too big at the moment.

BoL = Bond of Life. Red bar over the HP bar that absorbs healing until it's cleared. Can be applied by certain craftable Fontaine Weapons (which give a buff once it's cleared in exchange), Fontaine Fatui enemies and Arlecchino (though hers is extra special since she applies and clears it on her own since healing doesn't work on her).
Leaks have upcoming characters also use that mechanic in some form, though it's all questionable rumors until the beta starts and shouldn't be given too much weight.
