I can't believe Zeppelin let Puff Daddy sample Kashmir for that.
They liked Shin Godzilla, so your point is kinda moot.
Kinda rough odds when they make up like 70-80% of the movie. The first Godzilla and Shin didn't have boring human stories so surely we can aspire to more?
There is absolutely no hype for this. If review trend continues this might not even make top 3 at box office

Sigh. Well that explains the late review embargo. Seems like the movie is a very incoherent mess all around but there are lots of fights at the least for fans who just want to see that.
What were you expecting besides large scale monster action from those trailers? Some deep plot?

Oof. That's why WB didn't move up the review embargo. Hopefully the WOM is better than the critical reception.
Nor should most of them. There is a pleasure in the silly ones, but they aren't great. But then there are Godzilla films that are truly great with good characters and compelling stories. I'm thinking Godzilla '54, Godzilla vs Destroyah, Shin Godzilla. I like the bad ones, I love the great ones. I also really appreciated '14 for the coherent spectacle and the restraint that amplified it. This one apparently mostly being bullshit on multiple fronts, outside of some poster worthy frames, is a shame.
Woof I let the trailers hype me up too much. Godzilla movies are really cursed by good trailers and mediocre films.

This is largely my stance as well. I think both Kong Skull Island & Godzilla (2014) are both phenomenal films, in very different ways. Both also seemed to be more popular with critics than KotM.
So I genuinely have no clue how other peoples' takes on these flicks is going to compare to my own.

I disliked the last movie because there wasn't enough Godzilla. I hope this movie doesn't face the same problem.
It sounds like the opposite, in that the human parts of the film are a dumbass mess, but there are cool monsters and shit.
They should stop putting human characters in it for me to watch then
