Gorillaz peaked with Doyathing. An EP in this vein would have been incredible.
About damn time someone mentioned this song. The song is literally THE SHIT. IT'S THE SHIT.

I feel like you exist to counter me on everything. You're my Agent Smith. This is so much better than Humanz, which I'll have to call a fluke at this point.
It certainly doesn't come close to Plastic Beach but that would be hard. Definitely going to get some more listens out of me though.

It seems odd to see that kind of comment after numerous, wildly different albums with all kinds of radically different sounds and collaborators involved. Gorrilaz as a concept seems by design to be fluid and whatever it wants to be.Eh no need to be annoying, unless you really don't understand how someone could say Lake Zurich doesn't sound (amending word choice) specifically* Gorillaz
I understand why you ignored The Fall.Haha.
I'm being a bit harsh on Humanz. I still think it's a solid enough album. I just waited so long since Plastic Beach that I was definitely expecting more.
EDIT to add this:

That said, Lake Zurich shares some audible DNA with DARE. I hear it. Tell me I'm crazy.
Calling it solid seems generous to me tbhHaha.

It's pretty much the critical and fan consensus that Plastic Beach was the apex of Gorillaz.
If you want a good Noodle's album just listen to Superorganism self-titled album

The real question is what the best rap feature is from within their albums. I can tell you right now the ones from Humanz is at the bottom, except maybe Kilo Kish on out of body.
Good list, my favorites as well :)Humility is still great, Hollywood is amazing, really digging Sorcererz and Lake Zurich. With LZ had lyrics, though!
Still really don't like the new album. At all. But that's fine, because I loved Humanz, and I got that a year ago, so I'm good.
The answer is Sweepstakes.

Truth.Demon Days is the apex of Gorillaz. That album is the one generally considered to be the best Gorillaz album.

Sweepstakes is a top 5 Gorillaz song and by far the best song on Plastic Beach.
In an ideal world we'd get a second version with lyrics. I still love the track as it is but I wonder what it could be.Good list, my favorites as well :)
Although I'm totally fine with LZ being a groovy, lyric-less jam.

There's not a single bad feature on HumanzThe real question is what the best rap feature is from within their albums. I can tell you right now the ones from Humanz is at the bottom, except maybe Kilo Kish on out of body.
"Their voices" zzzzzz, where did that even come from. I don't dislike either, there just isn't much for me to like. Danny Brown's feature has no bars and doesn't build up to anything. There's nothing wrong with what he's talking about mind you but it's presented with such minimal energy. Vince feature is good. Hook got underwhelming on repeat listens quick though.I still don't get what people dislike about the Danny and Vince features. Their voices? Is that it?
Sure, but they're not better than any of the rap's from Plastic Beach and co. Actually I forgot about Mos Def on Sweepstakes.
You are now tuned into the tomb of Jehova
Play my tunes loud enough to shake the room, what's the hold up?
Heard the world is ending soon I assumed that they told ya
They tryna dinosaur us so now it's time to go up
They fit in perfectly as a whimsical introduction to Plastic Beach, what's there to hate?
A shame this momentum didn't carry into the rest of the song. Vince does have the best ending though.
why are their introductions to plastic beach talking about a real beach, especially considering snoop dogg did a much better job introducing the album just two minutes agoThey fit in perfectly as a whimsical introduction to Plastic Beach, what's there to hate?
I never heard the extended version before but holy shit you might be right.Gorillaz peaked with Doyathing. An EP in this vein would have been incredible.
