If you can only have one which would it be? You can use any variation of cheese, fat, and bread to make the grilled cheese sandwich and conversely you can use any jelly/jam/preserve and nut butter to make the PB&J.
And pbj with some salty ass lays or munchos potato chips!
the question isnt "whats the best sandwich when you pair it with something"Love them both, but I can't think of anything that goes with PB&J as well as tomato basil soup goes with a grilled cheese.
An ice cold glass of milk. That's all a PB&J needs. It can stand on its own.I can't think of anything that goes with PB&J as well as tomato basil soup goes with a grilled cheese.
there's a food truck in my town that does them, they are great
Thankfully we have the same cheeses available as anyone else.PB&J. I only like cheese in specific combinations, and a basic grilled cheese isn't it.
Especially with American cheese. That shit is whack.
edit: The bread in the OP should never be used for a good PB&J; too spongy.
Do you live somewhere that jelly is what you call a gelatinous dessert instead of a fruit spread?no offense to pb&j but I think I'd pick just about any other sandwich on earth over it
Same feel like I'm in the twilight zone.
I think fruit spread deserves better than being put in a peanut butter sandwichDo you live somewhere that jelly is what you call a gelatinous dessert instead of a fruit spread?
Whynotboth.gifI think fruit spread deserves better than being put in a peanut butter sandwich
like, for example, being put in a grilled cheese sandwich
I mean, both are great. Why not add cheese to your grilled PB&J?I think fruit spread deserves better than being put in a peanut butter sandwich

because this is a poll thread. it is sandwich thunderdome and one must dieI mean, both are great. Why not add cheese to your grilled PB&J?
What the hell are you doing to your grilled cheese?just straight peanut butter for me. maybe peanut butter and banana. Grilled cheeses are always too greasy for me, if im gonna go greasy i just want like an actual hamburger or something.
Butter the bread on both sides and then add a stick of butter to the pan and then I butter it when it's done
Yeah, use less butter. A whole damn stick?Butter the bread on both sides and then add a stick of butter to the pan and then I butter it when it's done
If only there was a less greasy way!
Butter comes in whole sticks though. They don't sell less butter, you have to use the whole stick.Yeah, use less butter. A whole damn stick?
Butter both sides of bread? Good. Some butter (like one or maybe two pats) in the pan before putting the bread in? Good.
But a whole damn stick? Cut down on the butter and it won't be as greasy.
