Well, misery likes company. :)
Got my first win over Hades. Used Rail. Spammed triple bomb while kiting Dad the entire time. Must say he's in great shape for his age. Though seems to be in deep denial after losing to me.

Tried next run with bow on heat 1. Turns out bow is trash. Elysium enemies whooped my ass and Theseus-Mino fight ended the run. Would rather die to lava in Asphodel first chamber than to that smug asshole. Second Prize winner for most-punchable-face-of-2020.

Have now crossed Styx with Malphon for another Hades fight. I was sleeping on this weapon, guys. The special is otherworldly. Though I dread having to stay close to Hades to land my attacks.

Got my second clear using the shield and the chaos aspect. I got doom on specials and attacks as well as hangover on dash and +3 dashes. Really amusing. I just raced across rooms with fast-charging bull rush and five dashes. Everything just kind of died after a few seconds. Too bad I didn't have that mirror buff activated for extra damage while enemies are afflicted by two status effects. The game would've practically played itself at that point.

The final release can't come soon enough! I hope they add some fun achievements in there, perhaps from combining certain heat conditions. I liked that a lot in Into the Breach. The achievements/challenges incentivized you to play in a way you hadn't before in that game.

+2 or +3 dashes turns the final boss into easy mode, always pick it.

For sure. I barely got hit with the spin attack. The window to evade it is so much larger.

Edit: Anyone have tips for dealing with the archers in Elysium? Those fuckers tag me constantly even though I'm trying to keep track of that bullseye indicator. Is there an animation on the icon that they just fired off an arrow and I didn't notice? Really tricky. Also, that big orb midboss with the butterflies and the soldier spawns at the periphery of the arena. It seems way too much to balance. Tend to lose a significant chunk of my health when I come across that room. I'd rather face the bull guy.

Neat! They don't seem to work as of yet though, either retroactively or meeting the conditions now. Hope we'll automatically get the ones that we should've already earned once they're implemented.

Absolutely loving this. I think I prefer the dialogue, atmosphere, music and character art in Pyre and Transistor's story and protag. However, when it comes to gameplay in Supergiant's games, Hades is in a league of its own.

Elysium was such a ball ache that I decided I couldn't do it with the spear and so started experimenting with all the other weapons for the past two or three days. I ended up besting it with the spear a few hours ago ^_^ Thank god for Patroclus and his offer to replenish all uses of Death Defiance! The next zone was far easier in comparison. The boss was just as nails.

Hot tip for hades, he's especially susceptible to Deflect. If you have Divine dash, brilliant riposte and blinding flash you can reflect his his spear poke or flaming head toss for massive damage on reaction. Still have to worry about the big spin but he's much more manageable if you're having trouble. Overall I think he's much easier than the Elysium fight, especially their buffed up version. That said I think they''ll be a buffed up Hades fight for the full release

I think my easiest Hades kills (not the fastest, mind) were with either Dionysus/Hangover (especially with Aphrodite duo for more stacks) or Ares/Doom with Aphrodite duo so Doom becomes a DOT. The trash takes itself out at that point.

What I keep running into is that I'm still holding in a direction when I try to get a quick special off, and it moves the target away from where it auto-aims towards. It's something that I need to get used to, I think. Spent most of my time with the melee weapons so far.

This happens to me a lot, too. There should be an option to snap the aim to enemies even when you're holding a direction.

Oh, the Nintendo Switch version is out today. Which suggests that it'll be hitting 1.0 on PC too. Achievements have also gone up for it on Steam.

I did not expect it to drop so soon! What a pleasant surprise. I put in 50 hours so far, but I think I'll start over to have a nice and clean slate. I want to see everything I can.

Started up a fresh file toreally experience 1.0, and ended upalmost getting to meet Lernie again during the tutorial run - there are definitely a ton more armored enemies and other hazards, plus no buffs, so you're definitely supposed to die before you get that far, but I wanted to experiment. Pretty sure you can do a whole run there, you just are stuck with no upgrades...

Ah, time to enjoy this journey once again

Yeah, first run will be awkward with only one dash and no death defiance or acorn, rerolling boons/room, etc. Still great fun, but the game really opens up as you go!

Extreme measure hades didn't seem much different, kinda disappoint. Did it first clear and I'm intrigued by the ending. I've bought everything in the gemstone store and now I've unlocked themes.

Has anyone unlocked the legendary fist aspect? Not sure why it won't appear to me.

Extreme measure hades didn't seem much different, kinda disappoint. Did it first clear and I'm intrigued by the ending. I've bought everything in the gemstone store and now I've unlocked themes.

Has anyone unlocked the legendary fist aspect? Not sure why it won't appear to me.
RNG again. Gotta keep meeting Asterius.

For some reason, I got the Friends Forever achievement (maxing all keepsakes) upon starting a new save. Odd! Haven't even gotten to that point on my EA save.

This switch port is flawless holy shit. I was expecting a little slowdown here and there but man it's so smooooth. Can't believe I waited so long to play this but glad I did so I could experience it for the first time on switch.

Beat the first boss with the spear and it seems SUPER good. Can't wait to get more weapons.

Just bought this on Switch, first time playing. This is amazing! Love how the story and lore is integrated into the gameplay. I could see myself having a lot of fun with this.
