EA have about 5 games with DV output
... and they don't work properly on new GPU's or at least at common output settings. Need for Speed Heat for example is unplayable in HDR on PC cause it tries to engage Dolby Vision, fails and outputs purple garbled mess instead.
Yeah, I've had mixed successes with it - black screens I can only recover by hard booting my PC being one.... and they don't work properly on new GPU's or at least at common output settings. EA does not give a shit about any of that tho.
I hope if/when new wave of DV games comes out Windows 10/GPU drivers or whatever will be actually ready for it.
What are your thoughts on DV in games when it comes to those native implementations in EA games? Worth bothering trying to make it work or it's whatever? I managed to briefly play a bit of ME: Andromeda on GTX 970 in DoVi and was in whatever camp... after rebooting PC for the 5th time (😂)Yeah, I've had mixed successes with it - black screens I can only recover by hard booting my PC being one.
Managed to get it to work easily by forcing 8bit RGB. Weird. Not a great solution either

It looked a bit different to me, but i would not say it looked better than HDR10.

Hopefully new wave of games has a more robust DV implementation on PC. So at least comparing the two would not be a pain :DI remember you from the Andromeda - Dolby Vision in Windows conversation. I managed to beat the game last week (110 hours), 100% of that time was using Dolby Vision.
But yeah, had to restart Windows 3-4 times during all that. This should be fixed on PC...its very seamless in console, come on Microsoft.

I'm in the middle of renovating the ground floor of my home, fitting in-ceiling speakers for that sweet Atmos. God damn, I cant wait to test it out with Halo's soundscape.

They all use Nv's HDR API AFAIR and don't work that will in latest versions of Windows 10.
Seems like it.Dolby seemed to pull the site where Halo is listed. Was it leaked early before E3?
