Shoot really :( why must they make living harder everydayAlso worth noting this is going to affect everything, not just video games. Things like Netflix are going up, too.
Humble has been charging tax for a while I dont know, they didnt have to until now.I don't understand, my Xbox store purchases have had taxes on them forever... Were your really able to get away without paying taxes on Ps?
Currency is not taxable, so gift cards, and PSN cards don't get taxed. But does EB Gams now have to as well, or did they just pay the tax from their own pocket when you buy digital codes there?
No, EB actually doesn't charge tax on full game downloads. Like if you bought a code for Monster Hunter Rise on Switch for $79.99, you wouldn't have to pay the roughly $10 tax on top of it, but would have to on the eShop (or any other retailer).Currency is not taxable, so gift cards, and PSN cards don't get taxed.
Ah, they can probably start charging tax on it now, or should at least. No, EB actually doesn't charge tax on full game downloads. Yup.If I pre ordered something now, would I lock in the cheaper rate?
I hope not. I save a bundle there and luckily just bought a nice chunk during the E3 sale.Ah, they can probably start charging tax on it now, or should at least.

BC defiently started months back. Netflix included. Wasn't aware the rest of Canada hadn't already started.Strange. I could have sworn I'd already been charged them for a while now on BC PSN.
Everybody think they pay too much tax and that others pay too little.
Time to pre-order a bunch of games!
In Ontario at least, there was a loophole that since Sony had no physical stores, unlike Microsoft, and only sold digital products, their items were not taxed. Same with Netflix/Crave subs here, they're exactly 11.99 no tax for example.
I found it bizarre as well years back and it was a factor why I got rid of my Xbox One and kept my Ps4.I don't understand, my Xbox store purchases have had taxes on them forever... Were your really able to get away without paying taxes on Ps?
Direct taxes scale well with income. These indirect taxes disproportionately affect the purchasing power of the less privileged.
