I kinda like that, but kinda don't. There are many times where I'll play specific decks just to farm whatever class is most popular/I'm facing the most.

Interesting point. Very curious what the algorithm looks like and how effective it will be.
I figure if the most popular deck in the metagame is the one you face the most, you will spend slightly longer looking for a different class.
I've had plenty of metagames where I never face the most popular deck, so it might help make individual ladder experience more varied regardless.

How can a patch like this be rolled out to different platforms at different times if they're all part of the same user population? like what happens if a friend and I want to play and they're on desktop and I'm on mobile, and one of us received a patch with buffed or nerfed cards and the other one didn't? Are we just prohibited from playing against each other until we all have the patch? Because I'm unpatched right now and I can still play the game.

Yes, that is how it works. Mobile players aren't playing against PC players right now, until the patch is fully distributed.
because battle.net is controlled by blizzard, any patch just gets publsihed there and that's it team 5 is on blizz iteself, on android and iOS the patch has to go through a certificate process to ensure the patch doesn't risk the game, hardware or OS of the device.
and yeah, clients can only play with other clients on the same update
Aware of the delays involved in publishing on the mobile stores, but why not submit earlier, or delay every platform until it can be deployed to all platforms simultaneously? What's the error that comes up now if two friends on different patches try to play or interact together?
because it's more a philosophy than anything else... delay a patch on the platforms which are ready to publish at the same time or pusblish ASAP and let the other come later on? blizzard goes for the latter.
they just can't intereact, I can see updated friends online and their status but I can't challenge or spectate them, it's like we are incompatible at that point.
Shaman just got a new hero! Warrior and Hunter are lacking compared to the others. Now even more people are going to play Murloc Shaman. MRRRGLGLMGRRGLG!

I have a priest deck with bwonsamdi and spirits and horrors and stuff in it, but I'm not confident enough in it to play on ladder, maybe after I hit legend. Wins a lot on casual tho.

Cloning gallery'd a Messenger raven which got me a Vex Crow in my spell heavy priest deck, seanced it and threw out some arms for my boys, mage conceded.

I wonder if hunter mage and warrior don't get any skins because they already have on the shop and they don't want to downplay them
they are literally the only classes I don't have any skins.

Totally forgot Mulchmuncher went to 9 mana. That will make playing against Mage a little more tolerable. I've lost so many matches to Conjurer's Calling into Mulchmuncher
Whalen clarified on Twitter that there is no matchmaking based on opponent class, pre- or post-patch. The change in the latest patch only seeks to lessen the likelihood that you'll play the same opponent.
Oh that's good. That's much better. It'll definitely help streamers too.

Honestly really excited about the buffs it seems like a great way to shake things up. Still not sold on the specialist format even though there's thankfully been more class variety. The warrior mirrors are still insufferable especially if they go to game 3. I really hope they go back to conquest soon

Pretty crazy, first time I can remember that the mobile patch just straight up missed release day. Oh well.
Dog was playing Pogo Rogue on stream yesterday, if you want to watch the VOD. His conclusion was that regular Tempo Lackey Rogue was better but if you want to include Pogos, it's not going to hurt your win rate too badly.
Being unable to play on a long commute today sucks, though. Ultimately, I understand if it has to go out late, but if they have a system in place to segregate the unpatched community anyway, why not keep that going?

If you stay off of patched clients (like PC) you can still play unpatched versions until they get updated. I can still play on mobile because I never logged in on my PC.
This is definitely a weird situation though. Never been this long before.

You can't expect a small indie dev like Blizzard to roll out a patch on PC and phones at the same time.

Weird. Maybe it's targeted? I only started playing again recently, mostly doing the SP stuff cause I had enough coins on hand for the first three wings.
edit: It's showing up as a 24 hour sale inside the app. Got 400 back instantly after buying the Masters bundle

I was so happy when she released. Priest is my favorite class and I find Anduin extremely unlikeable, whereas moon pagan priestess lady is very up my alley lol
