Amazing how many people don't know to just dive when you're on fire. I've seen lots of people just running around screaming and then keeling over and dying.

Eagle Cluster Bomb and Orbital Airburst are my favorites for keeping them away on top of the rover. I think my highest kill from one of these was around 50. Rover is just great when you are kitting bugs around.
Orbital Airburst seems pretty underrated to me. The pacing of the shots is perfect for controlling a bug breach. I don't think I've ever regretted picking it. (though, if the fire host bug ever gets picked, I think it will face much stiffer competition from Eagle Napalm Strike).

When was that buff? For me just stimming worked just fine yesterday.
Honestly depends on how much the flames lick you.

It was the last patch from last week i elieve.

They decided to buff all DoT by 50% without realizing dot damage doesn't work for anyone except network host sometimes.

Yeah last patch Fire damage was increased 50%. The Tornados are insane, you got about .5 a second to stim/dive or you are dead with no chance.

Yeah agreed. Though I think I still prefer having one orbital and one eagle so you still have a CC option while the eagle is rearming. If they ever get the bug fixed I would probably do cluster+gas or napalm+airburst pairs.

On the other hand...if you have not tried it. Go host a bug mission and bring flamethrower. Shit is ridiculous.

I cannot even Imagine it with the ship buff alongside it.

Yeah it's crazy that they've buffed the flamethrower damage, then buffed fire damage, then added a ship module that further increases fire damage

Fire tornadoes after the fire damage "patch" are not managable, we lost 10 reinforcements to just them. It's instant death once they touch you.

I will never touch a fire tornado again until they patch this shit. They should honestly be disabled if they're this broken.

I lost like 25+ samples due to an extraction that got swarmed by tornadoes (shocker) that then made everything I dropped bugged out and impossible to pick up again. Super fun.

The biggest bullshit about fire tornadoes is honestly that they're clearly designed in a way to cover the objective area and to chase players. Should just be 100% random. I've had multiple primary objectives and extractions where we simply couldn't do the objective or extract because the fire just happened to go right over it.

I was playing one of the fucking fire tornado planets today and after failing in large part because my understaffed squad could not launch an ICBM *while the whole area was bathed in fire* and once it was over I was like fuck this and switched to a bug planet. We were low on time and only had a couple of reinforces left, and I had to try to sneak up on the final clamp to undo for the silo cover and naturally, despite trying as carefully as possible the animation moved me too close to the fire and I died. I did get the clamp done, but then, ha ha ha, a spout of fire just sat on the console for a minute.

I can't stand AA Defense missions that take away a strat slot, but I *loathe* fire tornadoes. So not fun.

I'm almost certainly in the minority here but I kind of like the fire tornadoes. I don't even mind how they slowly home towards us, it somehow fits the farcical tone of the game. It honestly amuses me to be attacked by a planet. My only gripe with them is how the lower visibility makes it tough to find the super samples rock.

I like the fire tornadoes, but then again I am the guy that shouts "HOLEDIVERS! EVERYONE OVER THE HOLE" whenever I see one of those random instant death pits. Even (especially?) when we're badly outgunned and running for our lives

The Menkent reset may have been kinda BS, but it's already almost back at 50% and Lesath is still 100.

I know, I know, incoming Lesath reset

I quickplayed into a group of 3 friends trying to do the "Extreme Blitz in under 6 minutes" achievement and we got it on our first try.

Thought the escort missions were gonna be a lil better. They feel the same to me, but just seeing the end it looked like ppl were focused on getting samples more than evacuating.

It's like once we hit 30+ the bots just kept coming. There were 4 hulks at one point and I was just being ragdolled left and right

Lucky. Only trophy I'm missing, think I had someone on Reddit give me their psn so we could try.

Community is kinda… weird. I only did 5-6 missions mind you but is it normal that people kill you or drop stratagems in your head on purpose ? Some would just stand in front of me and shoot me in the head right before jumping in the extraction ship O_o. Thats not mentionning the stuff people say in chat, super gross.

There is a discord for Era HD2 players in the threadmarks where you can find non-shit people to play with. Also, if you are the host you can kick people who are like that. If you have game set to public and select a mission, people can join, or try an SOS beacon on the planet. Mixed results with that one. Works for me, my friend never gets anyone to join. Don't need game set to public for it to work.

Last major balancing patch when they buffed fire damage for everything. Now Hulks feel like they carry a laser of death, not flamethrower.
We need fire resistant armor ASAP.

One thing I've seen people do is if you immediately go prone in front of the hulk, they can't shoot the flames downward and it will miss you completely.

My favourite thing against bots is taking out the fabricators at a distance

Maxed out the new ship stuff, what people do with their samples is no longer my concern. I also got all the Steam achievements thanks to that random group from earlier.

I don`t think the game ever tells you that you can do that (if it`s in a loading screen tips I can`t remember seeing it). Before the fire buff patch you could easily just stim to heal the fire and after fire patch it kills you in 0.5 seconds so players won`t have time to learn that the dive can stop it unless they already know.

Diving first is the best way to survive but it doesn't help that half the time you'll press the stim button, hear the sound, and then it doesn't activate at all.

I've been killed so many times because I'm at low health, hit the heal and hear it activate, but it didn't actually heal me.

I think my biggest streak so far is hearing the heal activate sound 3 times before it actually worked.

This has happened to me so many times. It's tied to the animations, I believe, some of them immediately cancel the stim action yet the sounds still play. Well, animations AND lag.

The annoying stim one for me is when you're on a control panel and you're trying to press up to open a hatch or something and you then end up using a stim when you're at 90% health!

Crossbow is pretty fun against bugs, I just wish it could also close bug holes. I feel all "explosive" category weapons should be able to do so, unless they create a new category for being able to close bug holes/fabricators like "highly explosive".

it wasn't a reset though? the bots attacked it, it's a defense campaign

It's still kinda BS though, that suddenly we're again at 0%, defense campaigns should have a different metric imo.

Imagine we knock over Lesath, it's 1 hour before the MO ends and suddenly they attack and we're at 0% 😂

The winning strategy now would be to just leave the invasion at 99% and knock over both planets near the end of MO, which is kinda cheesy.
