It's not an American or Canadian thing. It's an old internet thing. I've actually never seen the real image but I know a goatse reference when I see one. They are suggestive enough that, combined with the written description of the original, I feel like I've seen it when I view the callbacks.
consider yourself lucky. saw it so much in the early 00s was the rick roll before the rick roll

I don't remember if I ever knew about it, but I guessed what the hands were doing.

So then I googled it and šŸ˜µ
I've seen the name multiple times in the past, but I don't think I've seen the picture beforeā€¦until now.

I appreciate the explanation. I am just gonna delete my posts and walk away I think. Seemed like a bit of a joke thread, but I didn't get the the joke.

I guess there is more to it and judging by the looks of it I don't wanna know the full story.

I envy those who don't know what it is. The early internet was weird.. very, very weird. and damaging.
I was just thinking about how fucking weird it was this week that when I was 13-17 years old playing Counter-Strike or Team Fortress 2 it was just a given you'd be seeing some of the most explicit porn images available on the internet in the game. It was completely normal for you to turn a corner and see pics or gifs of Meatspin or tub girl or something really fucked up. So many things are seared into my brain because of those games and allowing people to spray whatever they wanted.

I don't miss that time at all.

The internet was a wild, wild place back then.

I mean, people have described it at this point. I am still not sure why you would delete your posts though.
Because I got like 5 responses in 5 minutes either telling me I don't wanna know or acting like I lived in a cave for not knowing. At that point I'd rather just walk away to be honest because it's clearly not something worth knowing lol

Deleting the posts saves me from waking up to 6 responses that I will never respond to.

People reading the Toronto Sun deserve the original image, not this knock-off.

Didn't the goatse man die?
Nah, that was just a false rumor that spread around. In like 2012 Gawker (I think it was them at least?) investigated the whole Goatse story and they identified him as a pretty prolific gay porn star who is very much still alive and active (as of 2012 or whenever the article was published, at least) but also very reserved and who didn't like to admit to being Goatse

Ring's on the wrong side and different (in reference to the people saying the ring is the same). Yes, I just researched....I took one for the team.

Oh, and happy Halloween!

Actually the research was quite funny. The domain got taken down and put back up again and someone is trying to sell it for a stupid amount or sell parts of it as some NFT bullshit and they tried to have a goatse coin crypto... The internet is eating itself.

Filthy ignorant and uneducated American here.

What am I looking at?
Ok zoomer.

Any intern is probably too young to understand what it is. And the higher ups too old to understand. Most people don't understand the old internet gross stuff outside of generations who grew up with it.

Even aside from the main thing the image is an odd fit for the headline.
Inflation would be causing the money to shrink while deflation would cause it to expand/stretch.

Goatse barely even registers compared to the shit you can find on literally any porn site nowadays.
