I was on-board for the first 3 panels, but everything after that has me completely confused on how the logistics of it works.
There isn't a single moment in any Avengers movie where I've said to myself, wow that's a character I'd like to see in a full length movie. They have to sell this shit to me.
I wanted to see that Black Panther guy, but apparently he had already gotten a movie
No, don't make it anything like that JLaw film.Just make it like that JLaw Russian spy movie but actually good and you nailed it. Or female Bourne.
Seriously. Their backstory and character are so much better and more interesting. Also, I wonder how many times Black Widow will do the hurricanrana when fighting because that's pretty much all she does. She doesn't even have superpowers... Would prefer a Gamora and Nebula team up.
That happened a long time ago. Stan is on a nine-picture deal and iirc Scarlett's on an eight-film deal, which this movie would then be the end of. Unless she has reupped again since.I have hard time believing that the entire film will be a prequel, especially with Winter Soldier being involved. It makes more sense for a plot like that to tie to the present. It would feel weird to me if there is a prequel story that shows us they had some sort of a relationship without actually seeing the relationship now in some form.
Another option: Marvel has locked down Scarlet and Sebastian for a multi-film deal. Captain America 4 will follow the Black Widow film and feature Bucky in the Cap role, showing us a relationship similar to that of what we got in the comics. The Black Widow film will help set up the context for that.
Also, Scarlet is awesome as Widow. Don't @ me.

This feels like a what...80 mil kinda project? Since it's a prequel I would imagine it could really deal with anything. Probably not very many superpowers on display, maybe some globetrotting spy stuff. Dosen't strike me as all that expensive of a movie.I think they should try to keep this a lower budget affair (as far a Marvel Studios film goes).

Yeah that seems like a modest enough budget for this. It would be interesting to see how it would tie into modern day events. I don't think we are going to hear much about those kinda details for awhile. Outside of a leak that is, ha.I can see it being around $100m, which is about the same as what Logan was (and what Solo should have been). Scarlet is a big star and will be getting a very nice paycheck. And Winter Soldier should lend to some more expensive-looking fights.
I truly don't believe this will 100% be a prequel though. And if it is, I think it leads into a Bucky as Cap/Natasha CA4.
Man, after McQuarrie killing it with MI6, should lock him down for something.
As others have mentioned, its placement in the timeline does raise some questions as to if Black Widow survives the events of Avengers 4, but perhaps I'm over-thinking it.It's a prequel set before Avengers 1?
I'm interested. Although, it's odd how the two female-led MCU films are set in the past.
EDIT: I see I'm not the first one to notice that.
She and Banner are probably retiring and adopt kids while in space.
She had a whole thing in Age of Ultron? She's got plenty of personality!
just get satisfaction she's finally playing a white woman againHow inappropriate would it be to make a joke about how now Scar Jo is playing a black character?
They had interactions in the original Avengers, and they built it up in Age of Ultron. It was also three years after of the Avengers and things can happen on screen. It's fine. You mean where she had a totally unconvincing romance with Bruce Banner that came almost completely out of nowhere?
Or the part where she gets kidnapped by Ultron, a subplot which has absolutely no bearing on anything or anyone in the film?
