I'm playing quality and couldn't be happier.

But to be fair, I'm not a 60fps extremist like most in this forum, perfectly framepaced 30fps + good motion blur is perfectly fine for me.

I always go 60 whenever I can, even if DF said they preferred quality mode.

Quality. The 30fps mode is surprisingly responsive(reminds me of rachet and Spiderman) and the image quality is pristine.

30fps is absolutely terrible.

I'm used to 120+fps so 60fps is acceptable for me.

the res mode is flawed tho

Definately quality if the difference is as big as DF says. 30 FPS is good enough for me in games such as these.

This is the first game this gen where I'm legitimately torn between both. I'm usually 60fps instantly but the quality mode is really good, so much extra visual flair.
I keep switching between both.

I only have a 1080p TV and have no real interest in upgrading. Performance sounds like the better choice for me.

Performance without question. I'm playing the game, not just staring at it with no camera movement going on.

PS studios games are pretty much the only games I play at 30 FPS. Their responsiveness and motion blur tech is so impressive. Leaps and bounds ahead of competitors.

A high intensity action game where precision is important, you move the camera around a lot, and there's a lot of visual data.

Performance, easily.

Waiting after Elden Ring, but I think I'll try Quality first for this one based on suggestions.
If patches don't change things.

Quality to start, HZD 30 was very smooth.
And now here come come the "60 absolutely always with no context or exception" crowd

30 fps sucks including this game. Feels straight up broken. Unfortunately on my tv performance mode looks awful. Everything shimmers and looks over sharpened. Framerate is smooth though.

Been playing in Resolution Mode since yesterday, it's so much better, most impressive graphics I've ever seen in a game. No way am changing that, 30FPS still feels great here, I can live with that

I replayed ZD over the last few weeks at 90fps on my PC, so there is no way I'm going down the 30 with this.

Performance all the way.

Can't think of many instances where I'd not opt for a 60fps mode in an action game when one exists.

Haven't tried FW yet, but DF said they preferred Quality mode on Forza Horizon 5 (Series S in particular) and I heavily disagree with them after trying both modes. It's weird to find myself disagreeing with DF nowadays.

I will always, always, always choose 60fps before anything else, unless it's like, a turn-based game.

I'll admit, resolution mode looks a lot better. I think the extra native pixels really make a difference in a game with this much foliage and animations. However, I'm a sucker for performance and 60FPS modes.

Quality, it's an open word game that will play perfectly fine in 30FPS and I'm craving some next gen visuals.

Also, the flickering is way more noticeable in quality, especially on the moss and smaller grass elements - it would literally change colour when you stopped moving the camera. Was very distracting.

Without a side-by-side comparison, I'll never notice the difference in details of little things like foliage, reflections, textures, etc. I'll always notice the difference between 30fps and 60fps, though.

I wanted to go quality but as soon as I spun the camera around I had to switch it to performance.

This is for sure the closest a poll like this has been. I feel like performance usually wins in a landslide. DF got people scared of missing out.

I went by DF's suggestion and tried resolution mode, was a rough hour or so to adjust but now it's smooth sailing and the game is gorgeous.
Also somewhat on topic:

This is incredibly sad but I didn't sleep yesterday thinking about which mode to choose.

I still dont know.

What I do know is that you adjust to 30fps after 30 minutes, but when the game gets tough you will perform better in 60.

This is the hardest choice I've encountered when given the option of 30 vs 60. It shouldn't be hard because imo every single PS first party game should have a 40 fps option! Come on GG.

It plays great at 30, a lot of games don't but this isn't one of them.

Playthrough 1 on quality. Playthrough 2/trophy cleanup on performance. This is what I usually do as long as they dont have massive drawbacks. Did this most recently with Guardians of the Galaxy and God of War. Can't wait to jump back in tonight.

Performance mode all the way. 30fps is just too difficult to adjust to having played so many 60fps games now for so many years, including a lot of the PS5 exclusives. As for image quality, 30 DOES look better with the 60 mode looking soft and messy on distant objects, but the pros of smooth motion outweighs the cons of slightly better image quality to me.

Final note - both modes have visual issues, as many have pointed out. Hopefully GG can patch some of those issues out in the near future.
