How is health points beating hit-points? Hit points is the OG.

This feels like one of those generational shifts.

Hit Points is instinctive for me, despite "health points" being more informative, especially to non-gamers.

It's Hit Points, which came from Dungeons & Dragons. I've never heard of Health Points although I can understand why someone would think that.
