it was clear here how crazy he is
Gon, Ging and Hisoka are a deconstructed Goku Holy Trinity.TBH, through most of the story, Killua is really the hero while Gon is just diving headfirst into danger for the sake of an exciting fight.
You see glimpses of it beforehand, but god damn the way it's played out isn't smart if you're Gon. He had no plan, just "git your ass beat till you hit him." That's not how Killua roles, not even Kurapika.it was clear here how crazy he is
the whole fight was completely unnecessary and he would have gotten minimal injuries by just following the plan from the beginning
but nope
In the Super thread I occasionally compare Goku to Ging in the bad father department. At least Goku has the excuse of "I was fucking dead" for missing out on raising his kids. Ging just didn't give a fuck. Who is Gon's Green Dad? Mitou?
Fo'real lol. I was looking at Gon like:
Gon has Goku's dumb as rocks/aloof personality and complete indifference to consequence and thinking ahead. Also the rock/paper/scissors technique. In the Super thread I occasionally compare Goku to Ging in the bad father department. Ging is the perpetually absent father disinterested in raising his kid
Hisoka is obsessed with seeking out stronger and stronger foes to challenge
I guess almost dying in his own spirit bomb combined with Jiren's strength made Goku climax in ecstasy.
You are on-point with this trinity theory lol.Gon has Goku's dumb as rocks/aloof personality and complete indifference to consequence and thinking ahead. Also the rock/paper/scissors technique.

Yeah, but we got Zamasux2 so it evens out.I love this.
A shame we didn't get a shining hard on from Goku Black
That sweet, sweet development. That isn't the end of it either. Keep going!Since the last time I had posted, I have reach episode 122. Last time I posted was around the last Gungi match, I think even before Morel Vs Leol. There is so much to talk about, so many wtf swerves, so many Gon es Loco freak outs, good lord. I am going to write it all up later when I reach the end but for now:
Highlights so far are Youpi, motherfucking NEN dragons outta nowhere, and character development. Seriously, how is there so much character development?

I mean, imagine this dude in his prime. He might have been able to take Meruem if he had faced him at his peak.
131 is "that" episode for most people. There are like 4 or 5 "that episode!" episodes in the second half of the CA arc lol
116 is definitley a that episode. The music, pacing and mood is too on point.126, 131, 135 and 136 easily could be "that" episode. Even 116 is a stand out.
Maybe, granted Meruem was way more durable than any human.I mean, imagine this dude in his prime. He might have been able to take Meruem if he had faced him at his peak.
I already have a couple of that episodes, Godspeed and Youli's change of heart, and the reveal of 100 Mode God Buhdavista. Or was godspeed and the change of heart two episodes? Either way, after Netero and King leave, and the first round against the Royal Guard, each episode left me floored and asking for more. You guys are killing me just name drooping all those eps.116 is definitley a that episode. The music, pacing and mood is too on point.
You ain't dead till 131 then 135 and 136 will kill you further and grind your soul into dust. Godspeed is a great moment because I think it's the first time he uses it. Really shows that Killua came a long fucking way in a short amount of time. Also Youpi gaining a sense of honor and respect mid battle is great.I already have a couple of that episodes, Godspeed and Youli's change of heart, and the reveal of 100 Mode God Buhdavista. That intro stare down between Pitou and Gon is epic followed by Gon's temper tantrum is chilling. The music used for it makes that scene excellent voice acting too.
They made Gon look buff as fuck in that scene.
Ep 131 is that shit that make your soul burn slow tier. It's great, but I have watched it twice and cried. My body is like, "I"m done" once the music starts....but 131 is probably even better if just forHyori Ittai piano scene. The animation, voice performances and presentation all so stellar. Pretty much peak of Shounen for me
I mean, imagine this dude in his prime. He might have been able to take Meruem if he had faced him at his peak.
That's when Netero and Zeno dove into Dragon Dive right? I fucking love that whole sequence. It might come off as hyperbole, but I really love the bulk of the Chimera Ant Arc. I defend that thing for a reason.Even 111 is amazing with Netero flashback and the "Bad move little ant" line.
If Super Gon, according to Pitou, could potentially get Meruem then i think Prime Netero could do it to, he should be in that tier. Now post-rose Meruem i don't think so, the power up from Pouf / Youpi is just too ridiculous.
It's one of my favorites for a reason. Gon is fucking insane in this episode. This page has made me rewatch 116. Fucking hell, every shot is just perfect

At some point within I think the next 6? episodes you'll be hit with a scene that rivals even peak Jojo weird. As I said, I am gonna make a huge post about everything. Until then, I just reached another huge milestone, and now get all the rose imagery.
Making me want to do a rewatch...or at least finish my current one. 131 fucking broke me.Yep, the whole sequence is amazing. And of course that beastly flashblack.
Yes. Weirder than Bayonetta Palm. I'm pretty sure everyone else knows exactly what I'm talking about.
Yeah that was pretty amazing.Congratulations Mitchman you just watched one of the best fights in shonen.

The thing with that scene it wasn't exactly showing mankind to be the the paragon of light and morality. It was showing how evil mankind could truly be and that the ants are never going to hit that level. Mankind will do evil shit to survive.Yeah that was pretty amazing. The build up showing Netero's motivations, then giving us the beatdown of King with no damage done, and then that speech about evolution which showed how the Ants definitely could not be redeemed. So what happens? Netero shows the resolve humans truly have, and fucking nukes him to the high heavens, basically confirming that he knew this was his last battle, and wanted to have one last fight. It wasn't about the spectacle or the bravado, it was about the characters to the bloody, bitter end.
Yeah, that's what is so great. The ants can deal with just existing and putting humans in a special little box, but the humans? Because of how weak most of em are and how easy the strong can abuse the weak, humans have that special little place in hell because of how downright evil they can get.The thing with that scene it wasn't exactly showing mankind to be the the paragon of light and morality. I had no idea you were into HxH. The fact the Killua's the one in the show except for Leorio with actual common sense is scary. How did I not see this thread earlier. HxH is the greatest Shonen I've ever had the pleasure to read/watch. My favorite arc was and always will be the Yorknew Arc, but Chimera Ants was definitely a close second.
Episode 116, as you guys are reminiscing here, is burned in my memory. The animation, the tension, and the voice acting (my god the voice acting) were all on point! Gon consumed by rage, and Killua consumed by heartbreak at the end...beautiful. No other Shonen had had that effect on me.
Gonna just straight up suggested to kill an innocent girl if things go south for Kite in the end. He should be the villain, not the Protag!I had no idea you were into HxH. The fact the Killua's the one in the show except for Leorio with actual common sense is scary.
