Troll thread is troll thread.

(Elba would make a great James Bond, though.)

He's already got the lucrative role of Knuckles. Doesn't need Bond anymore

Pierce Brosnan IS the ultimate Bond, truly. His face is the one I think of when I think "Bond". If only he was given better movies....

If his films were all of Goldeneye quality I feel like Brosnan would get called the best Bond a lot.

Yeah, with Goldeneye at least it had a serious tone but also knew when to have fun. Sadly Die Another Day when completely off the rails, the only other Brosnan film that was close to Goldeneye was The World Is Not Enough.

All this Bond talk reminds me that I have yet to watch Skyfall and Spectre. I should do that at some point.

Are you telling me that all these guys giving movie impressions in the 90s were actors?!

I would have posted "Idris Elba is confirmed for Bond Film" because he was confirmed visiting a premier of Goldeneye.

He definitely didn't look any older in the wire. I probably looked like a cherub six years ago, now I have greys where there were never even browns

Elba could have been a cool Bond but I feel that ship has sailed unfortunately. They are going to want someone younger I think. Is that new 00 in No Time To Die signed on for anything else?

UGH.. I would do ANYTHING to see Idris as James Bond..

He's perfect in every single way (imho!)

So much swag and it would undoubtably inject some fresh energy into the franchise, which I feel is still dangling from Casino Royale's balls

That's some catch, that catch-22

If that were the most commonly held belief I would find it infinitely amusing that an Irishman was considered best Bond...
Honestly, Brosnan wanted the kind of movies that Craig got. He was years ahead of the producers in terms of where the character and series needed to go. Sean Connery is still the best Bond, but Brosnan should be up there. He just got crap movies.

It's a shame we never got Idris as Bond. Daniel did a good job, but Idris was perfect for the role and everyone knows it. He's a bit old now though, but I guarantee if they had have cast Idris 15 years ago people would not have been calling for Daniel to be Bond.

For me even watching the Daniel Craig Bond films I can't help but feel a slight dissatisfaction in the back of my mind in the fact that it should have been Idris

Would have been interesting to see if Brosnan could have pulled those movies off. I find Craig such a charisma vaccum that it just never worked for me.

Brosnan? Yeah I think it would have been still Bond.

Brosnan had all the makings of the perfect Bond. Just got dealt a bad hand. I wish I could have come up with a Casino Royale pun here.
