I'm 29 and mines more gone than yours. I'm still not ready to buzz it all off quite yet. I probably will within a year or 2 though.
Please cite your scientific evidence for saw palmetto preventing hair loss.
you're wasting your money
Research shows that saw palmetto inhibits testosterone from binding to and stimulating prostate cells, which reduces the multiplication of prostatic cells and prostatic enlargement. Other treatments for BPH, alpha blockers and 5-alpha-reductase inhibitors cause sexual dysfunctions themselves — while saw palmetto is a natural supplement that doesn't have a long list of side effects. That makes it one of the best sources to increase testosterone naturally and improve prostate health the natural way.
One 2012 study conducted in Switzerland analyzed 82 patients in an eight-week trial; the patients took one capsule of 320 milligrams saw palmetto extract daily. At the end of the treatment, the International Prostate Symptom Score was reduced from 14.4 ± 4.7 to 6.9 ± 5.2. Investigators' and patients' assessments confirmed the good efficacy, and treatment was very well-tolerated and accepted by the patients.
Lol not trueI don't know, the Black community I've seen/been with rarely have hairline problem until their late 30s.
fair enough, thanks for responding!
It's a harmless supplement to take.
So at the very worst you are spending $30-40 every 3-6 months. At the best you delay or remove chance of hair loss.
Much cheaper then rogain and propecia are.

Generic finasteride is pretty cheap and you know what you're getting. With saw palmetto, there's 50 different versions in different concentrations and while there's some signs it can help suppress DHT, it's not as proven a product.
Doesn't finasteride have a symptom of impotence?
I rather take a harmless supplement and keep my dick up :) Maybe if I was actually losing my hair instead of being preventative I may be tempted to then take finasteride but that symptom list sounds awful.
Is it time to shave the melon? I'm afraid and don't want to let go. Honest thoughts?
And yes, I'm already working out.. psssh

Are you joking?I'm worried about this because my wife has hinted that she will stop loving me if I go bald.
My hairline started vanishing at 26. Stop complaining man. I hope you got a nice enough headshape.

I'm about to be 23 and it looks like my hairline has started receding. Talked to my GP and they said there's nothing I can do besides throw my money at snake oil. I love my hair and I don't want to let go, seeing some discussion on medications in here. What are the ones to have a look at? Preferably ones with studies behind them, I'm feeling a glimmer of hope haha

Yes I'm just joking. I do worry about going bald though
Finasteride, if that doesn't work, you can try Dutasteride.
Potential side-effects for those drugs are:
Erecticle dysfunction
Testicular pain
Gynecomastia
Depression
