« Je suis vraiment désolé » : le PDG d'Ubisoft s'excuse pour la première fois après les scandales

Service dédié aux témoignages, recrutement, diversité... à l'occasion d'une communication interne, le PDG d'Ubisoft, Yves Guillemot, a pris la parole sur

Service dedicated to testimonials, recruitment, diversity ... during an internal communication, the CEO of Ubisoft, Yves Guillemot, spoke on the future of the company and the changes that await it. Numerama was able to access the list of measures announced.

The video doesn't stop with the excuses. For 10 minutes, Yves Guillemot announces a series of measures intended to " change Ubisoft for the better ". In addition to the measures already announced , such as the use of outside consulting firms to carry out surveys, the creation of a " Head of Workplace Culture " position and the setting up of an alert system internally, the company now wants to go further.

Another central point of Yves Guillemot's message: human resources departments. " We are going to completely overhaul the HR department, " he announced. " We have talented and extremely dedicated people in our departments. I admit that in the past, we did not give them the necessary means to respond to certain problems. We are going to implement new tools so that HR has more influence and is more independent "

He knew about Serge and protected him for years.

Without resignation this isn't enough. You let it happen. Your apology means fuck all. Let a new person make changes for good. You don't deserve to speak on it.

Not America
All that income over the years and somehow ignorant of his most important responsibilities? Or all that income and was complicit? Either way, fuck his apology. FUCK UBISOFT.

It was bound to generate a reaction. It sucks that it only happened when it was reported by the media and not when the problem first started. Yves is either ignorant or completely complacent with what was going on.

In any case, I still think Era should take a stronger stand in regards to discussion about their games. Every OP should have a big ass disclaimer pointing out this problem for as long as these alleged changes don't yield results.

This is way too little, way too late. He knew what was going on there and he let that shit fester, he needs to go.

He needs to step down, his entire family needs to be out. He was close to the abusers, he knew what was happening.

Part of the change to creating a better culture should be his resignation

from Jason´s Bloomberg article:
"Ubisoft remains a family business, though. The company replaced Mallat last week with Christophe Derennes, another veteran employee. Derennes is the Guillemots' cousin, according to three employees."

so yeah...there are always people involved that are close to them. they "keep it in the family" it seems...

I, too, think he should step down but this being a "family business" makes that highly unlikely. Though the family collectively owns just 21% of the company, so the board of directors could most likely push for a resignation. That would only happen if Yves is more closely tied to the accusations and it directly impacts the company's profits.

Where are the arrests? None of this matters until the abusers face real punishment.

Resigning alongside every other executive who knew and did nothing (so, all of them) is the only apology we should accept.
