In my circles, Xbox is completely dead. Everyone I play/talk about games with has either a Switch, PC or PS5 and the one person I know that went with the XSX regrets it, lol.
It's insane and I never expected this to happen. The PS5 sold more than the PS4, Switch and Xbox Series combined and even the PS5 for the last year, crazy.
Yeah, everyone I know has a PS5, some have both, but I also think the XBX/S is ignored as not everyone in my group owns one, so they can't play it with usIn my circles, Xbox is completely dead. That's insane numbers. Obviously Japan is PS5 heavy, is there any other country that's this high in PS5/4 only sales?
I feel like I read only really the US has a evenish PS/Xbox split? Even the UK seems to be moving more towards PS with sales numbers recently
The US for roughly the last year has been 2:1 in favour of PS5, a larger split than last gen ever was. That's insane numbers. Obviously Japan is PS5 heavy, is there any other country that's this high in PS5/4 only sales?

I don't disagree with the prices, I just ordered a €2.500 computer, but it does say that laptops over 3K have increased by 25%, not declined. Not surprised at all about the PC decline. Prices for parts are an utter piss take atm.
I don't know. PC gamers are pretty much "Steam or bust" so their margin is minuscule compared to a console ecosystem. But increasing console numbers would mean true console exclusive, so they're in an impasse. That's on them though, for the end of 360/Xbox One politics.Xbox is losing even more ground in mainland Europe than the xbox one did. Thats nuts.
A large reason why they are going hard in on PC, I suspect. Much easier to get users in Europe that way.

TIL, I thought it was actually a lot closer than thatThe US for roughly the last year has been 2:1 in favour of PS5, a larger split than last gen ever was.
Yeah, you may be right that there is a grand plan somewhere, but something must be done for the console side, or else those finance guys at Microsoft will see (if they don't see it already) how much money they leave on the table by not having future games releasing on Playstation.Well they are probably hoping that CoD and Diablo and whatnot on gamepass gets more people using it on the PC via an app. The offerings get so good that more people sign up because it just becomes a no brainer. Or maybe the long term plan is to get gamepass on Steam. I am sure they have plans though, because they appear to be doing verry little when it comes to consoles in Europe, to the point where localisation can be a problem.
I know, right? And yet, Sony is still not satisfied with sales of PS5 during this financial year :D
Wasn't that about the UK specifically? And yet, Sony is still not satisfied with sales of PS5 during this financial year :D
"In United Kingdom, it's a bit weak, but Europe as a whole has been performing quite well,' said Sony COO Hiroki Totoki during a recent financial call.

Their console focused exclusive games output has been worse than even the Xbox One, that's the main reason I think. Apparently Xbox Game Pass is not enough reason to buy an Xbox Series for. Although I think Xbox will be just fine when the larger upcoming exclusives start dropping, the first major one being Starfield.Xbox is losing even more ground in mainland Europe than the xbox one did. Optimistically, they will exclusively offer the runner-up to the RPG of the year 2023.
So maybe that will move the needle ;)
And to think I've read some posts here and there back in 2020 that they were worried about PS5 because of the power difference between it and Series X…The PS5 sold more than the PS4, Switch and Xbox Series combined and even the PS5 for the last year, crazy.
Yeah. Maybe it's different in other Euro countries but it sure feels like Xbox is a non-factor. Here in Belgium it's also just PS + Switch domination like Germany. In my circles, Xbox is completely dead. Totally, they should open it and spend that money on actually marketing to and supporting markets that aren't NA and the UK.
