This is basically the same debate that we're carrying into next gen.
Would I pay more for a more powerful console ? Totally.
Would it make sense business-wise ? I don't think so.
Pro continued Sony's trend of an affordable console that packed a punch, and it was the right call when looking at the sales trajectory in the last couple of years.
The X was about aiming towards the enthusiast market, which made a lot more sense considering Microsoft's position.
Mainly I don't get the "Microsoft was able to do that, so Sony should too" argument. It's been clear for years that they don't have the same business strategy anymore.
