Interesting breakdown and analysis of the Final Fantasy VII Remake ending on Reddit

There's been a lot of speculation on the ending of Final Fantasy VII Remake since the game came out. It is a fascinating ending, after all.

Even outside of the speculation, there's been a lot of confusion, since the game deals with time travel and alternate realities. I wanted to share this reddit from from last week because I actually found it to be very useful in breaking down what happened, and in speculating on the whys and hows.

I think the best twist would be if Aerith created the splinter worlds, when she raised the lifestream and stopped Meteor. It created a fracture in reality. Aerith's face being repeated at the end of the original FF VII, that's her fractured self in a different world... the remake.
