To be fair, Tokyo Revengers's increase in sales this week is due to the live-action movie, not the anime
Oh I had no clue there was even a live action movie. Was it terrible?

I can't say anything about the quality of the movie, but it's been doing quite well at the box-office (should end up at 2B yen +)Oh I had no clue there was even a live action movie. Was it terrible?
One Piece taking a lot of breaks has certainly nothing to do with it selling less than it used to.One Piece started slowing down when Oda started to take every other week off, oh well, Wano is also way too long and could have easily be cut in half with no much missing
The free Oricon website doesn't have as many numbers, and not as fast. Only the volume top 30 is available for free (in terms of weekly data). There's a weekly top 20 series ranking, but it doesn't have any number.Quick questions: where can you find the most recent numbers on the Oricon website?
Thanks. I'm assuming it's the same for Shoseki rankings? The free Oricon website doesn't have as many numbers, and not as fast. Only the volume top 30 is available for free (in terms of weekly data). There's a weekly top 20 series ranking, but it doesn't have any number.
Then, there's the monthly and yearly stuff.
Every other Oricon numbers that I post are leaked from the paid Oricon service. It usually leaks on baidu. This service is accessible to all (unlike their business one, where a weekly top 500 exists) and cheap (~1k yen per month) so Oricon doesn't seem to be interested in stopping these leaks.
If for some reason, you're interested in paying that subscription, you can do so here.
Not at all.
I see. Thanks!Not at all.
Shoseki is a blog. Everything on it is freely accessible.

List of all the half-year/yearly top 500
This is only the manga rankings, but there is also a Book/LN ranking
The yearly rankings can be either 52 or 53 weeks depending on the calendar. 2020 was 53 weeks. 2021 will be 52. The last week of the year will be week 46 (ending on November 21st).Rouk' this might be a dumb question, but does the Oricon rank 52 weeks? If so there are 23 more weeks for Oricon chart, right? So it would end around late November, correct?
Tokyo Revengers doing numbers yet again! (In fact, this week got better results than the previous one!).
Kodansha recently announced 32 million for TR was in circulation (with digital sales included) so let's see how sales for TR keep going, but if TR manages to get the next 23 weeks in a 750K+ average then it would be a contender for #1! (I know I keep saying this every week, but I really like Tokyo Revengers haha).
Although to my knowledge, we don't know when the next volume of JJK is gonna get released, do we? Especially now that the author got some well deserved vacations?

Meanwhile WSJ top ten (excluding Jump+) will probably be something like this
01. Jujutsu Kaisen
02. Demon Slayer
03. One Piece
04. My Hero Academia
05. Chainsaw Man
06. Dr. Stone
07. Haikyu!!
08. The Promised Neverland
09. Mashle
10. Black Clover
Uuh... 1997?
Probably 1999
Both, but mainly other series exploding in popularity.Rouk'
How does One Piece go from consistently being #1 year after year to now not even being top 3?
Is the series becoming less popular or is it just that other series are becoming more popular? Or both?
Wow that would a huge drop for One Piece. Wonder how it will go next year. it's definitely not going to be in top 3 with Chainsaw Man anime coming out and Demon slayer and Jujutsu kaisen recieving a new season and movie respectively late this year. Could we see it end up outside the top 5 for the first time? One Piece is very unlikely to be 4th. I don't see it beating Attack on Titan. 5th is more likely. And even then, since MHA has 2 volumes left before the end of the year, it could outsell OP.
And Chainsaw Man isn't going to drop to 10th place. 9th at worst. 10th place will go to either Haikyu or Kaiju (leaning towards Haikyu). Dr. Stone is not beating Haikyu, and I don't see it beat TPN either.

Are you under the impression that CSM's anime is releasing this year? Edit: Oh wait, you're talking about next year, nevermind.

And if chainsaw man still ends up at 9th even without the anime, I can only imagine how well it will do when the anime releases. Can it do better than JJk this year?
How are those numbers for Chainsaw man, good?NPD BookScan Top 20 Adult Graphic Novels (July 4th 2021 - July 31st, 2021)

Incredible numbers. Best monthly total for a single manga volume ever I believe (Slightly above MHA #28 in June, though that one had 5 weeks vs 4 here for Chainsaw). How are those numbers for Chainsaw man, good?
Also weird that it's only volume 1 since apparently every volume is hard to find. Low stocks?
oh shit, that's amazingIncredible numbers. Best monthly total for a single manga volume ever I believe (Slightly above MHA #28 in June, though that one had 5 weeks vs 4 here for Chainsaw).
Huh, wonder why.And it's only volume 1 cause they don't reprint full series, just a single volume. If you check the previous months, you'll see that there's often been one older Chainsaw volume in the top (volume 1, 2 or 3), but never two.
Won't the anime make it even harder to find?
It had 6.66 million units in circulation as of the end of July.
Oh thats great! thanksIt had 6.66 million units in circulation as of the end of July.
