This doesn't change the issue that there is no similar data for AC, but this new article puts the KnY IP revenue for 2020 at 1 trillion yen, including 90% for merchandising.
Thought you might be interested by the split.
This seems thread-worthy

I hope it is enough for Gotouge to be set for life.
That's a low second week for JJK. I'm guessing there have been distribution problems?Oricon Ranking: Week 41, 2021 (Oct 11 - Oct 17)

For a second week, following the sales it had for its first week (that consisted of 7 days), it's an expected drop.
Basically, these numbers could have been predicted based on last week's data.
The problem lies with how low the first week was. I don't think distribution issues can fully explain the low numbers for JJK. We may never now, because of the potential movie 0 boost, but maybe JJK would have hit its peak with volume 16 without it.
This is likely a lower 2-week total than any One Piece volume other than Volume 50. Even the worst of the past years (95, 96, 99) had a higher total (well, most likely, we'll have confirmation on Fryday).
JJK 17 is somewhere around 150k units behind #16 despite having 4 more days.
This was actually not the case, everything was just extremely low this week*It seems unlikely to me that Blue Period would be 10th with 50k units. So this is possibly one of these case where a manga outside the top 10 is wrongly put there. See what happened in post #2 of this thread. Friday data will fix that
I know a lot, not allowed to share everything, but I can answer questions.Rouk'
So this article is behind a paywall but, I was going to ask if you have any more info from the french market?
https://www.lemonde.fr/economie/art...-norme-des-mangas-en-france_6099496_3234.html
No.Is the highest selling manga there this year My Hero academia? I would thought that, if not One Piece, maybe Kimetsu or Jujutsu, not MHA.
Glénat (One Piece, Dragon Ball, Berserk, Tokyo Ghoul, Tokyo Revengers, Dr. Stone) is the biggest publisher in France. ~20% market shareBtw I had never heard of its publisher Ki-oon, I had heard from Glenat (which had a Spanish branch), Kana, but never of Ki-oon.
Another thing I like to compare is One Piece's backlog sales. In 2020, they were a bit below 2m in Japan, and somewhere above 1.5m in France (though under Japan). Also worth noticing that if MHA has sold there 2.1 million after January, those numbers are pretty much "on par" with Japan! (Considering that France is like half of Japan's population, 67 million vs 125 million) AND Oricon starts in November 2020 and MHA currently has 6,615,367.
MHA has sold 80ish% of what it has sold in Japan this year in France (taking into account the population difference).
Look Back sold more than twice as many unitsI haven't been paying attention that much, but how has Fujimoto's short story collection been doing in comparison to look back?

SxF volume release varies, but it usually at least 3 every yearWhy would Spy x Family beat JJK next year?
Isn't SxF one of those manga that get like 2-3 volume a year? Or am I wrong?
I don't think Chainsaw Man will be #1 or even in the top 3 next year, but maybe in the top 5. Its sales have slowed down alot compared to the beginning of the year when it had a boost from part 1 ending. and if the anime is coming next fall, it won't have alot of time to do big numbers.Oh ok, i get your point. But also remember that SxF is already a big seller, those don't really get super huge boost from anime.. but well, this is the post-Kny era when everything can happen I guess haha. Imo #1 could be Chainsawman, depending on when the anime starts, and when its supposed part 2 of the manga starts.
ThanksJust discovered this topic, your work is amazing Rouk' !!
Now I might be mistaken but I think Sengoku Gonbee is the lowest top 50 of the year. Do you guys knows if it is entirely due to the paper shortages in Japan or if the market is slowing down ?
We only got this week left for tracking right? Then I guess the final ranking will be:Oricon Ranking: Week 45, 2021 (Nov 8 - Nov 14)

Kingdom has a new volume this weekWe only got this week left for tracking right? Then I guess the final ranking will be:
Maybe SxF will barely surpass Chainsaw Man, but I doubt it will do enough.
- Jujutsu Kaisen
- Demon Slayer
- Tokyo Revengers
- Attack on Titan
- My Hero Academia
- One Piece
- Chainsaw Man
- SpyxFamily
- Haikyu!!
- Kingdom
Next year SpyxFamily should easily be #1 with the anime coming out probably by summer
Wonder if Chainsaw man will be able to be in the top 3 if the anime comes out next fall.
Also wonder if Jigokuraku will receive a big boost from the anime.
oh really? Think it'll manage to surpass anything else?Kingdom has a new volume this week
It's gonna be above Haikyu!!
No, it's too far away from SxF/CSM.
