It is incredible how good this game looks and how good it plays. I thought it was another "the same autocombo with each character to win"... but nooooo!!!! Each character plays different. The season 1 chars are a little bit similar... but those of season 3... each one could play on a different game. And I like to learn new combos and techniques. Oh, and I love the training mode and the moveset list. The training mode lets you try almost each situation in the game. And the moveset tells you how to properly use each move and what advantages gain the shadow version. It was the surprise game for me on 1997. (I bought the steam version)
for the Windows 10 version or the Steam version, the Xbox 360 controller worksI don't have a controller so I will have to hold up for a time but once I get one I'm playing this.
Also, would a Xbox 360 controller work?
You can't play this with keyboard right?
I'm playing it exclusively on keyboard and doing fairly well, finished Shadow Lords mode and won some online matches. I can't finish second half of dojo lessons though, dojo 18 is killing meI don't have a controller so I will have to hold up for a time but once I get one I'm playing this.

I bought an X1X this week and KI looks AMAZING. I really need to get back into it; I haven't played it much over the last 3 years.
The contrast of seeing the loading screens from the original release and then the updated visuals on the X1X is crazy to me. LOL
KI is probably my favorite fighter of this gen, and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys fighting games on any level.
It may look intimidating at first, but once you learn the very basics of how to combo break, it's a great casual game with friends, especially with the combo assist function. The very first time I played it was at an Xbox launch event, I had no idea what I was doing, but was having a blast.
There's no reason not to try it, since it's free to play, and has one of the most friendly models in that regard as well.
If you love monsters and metal you especially should check it out
Sadly, this thread reminded me I haven't played in a month and lost my Killer rank. I need to fire it up again and climb back up.
That's what I figured. Too bad I've never seen it on sale, while the Steam version goes for $20 very often.Windows Store version has the larger player base if multiplayer interest you. Cross play helps boost the numbers. Unfortunate the steam release took so long or I'm sure it would have performed bette.
Yep, that sums up KI nicely. Thankfully the PC port is stellar, so I didn't have to pick up an Xbox One to play it.
Yeah the load times are just too long, I'm playing on One X and although quicker, they still aren't as fast as I expected with the upgrade.Reinstalled the game after spotting this thread. It's just as fun now as it was back in Season 2! My only complaint is that the loading times feel like they've gotten worse on the standard Xbox.
wow nice picsTo anyone who interested in seeing how this game looks in 4K, i have collection of my 4K screenshots here - http://steamcommunity.com/id/inquis...940&sort=score&browsefilter=myfiles&view=grid I guess there is no big difference between One X and PC in graphics, i have Steam version and performance are rock-solid, game indeed looks stunning in motion.
The game just got an update today, but I can't find any details on what it changed/fixed.
It's definitely my favorite tournament of the year to watch via stream, so I can only imagine how cool it would be to attend. The best parts of Combo Breaker are:Combo Breaker is easily the best tournament I have had the pleasure of attending. If you have a chance to go I highly suggest making the time.
The way assets are stored and loaded in the engine is the reason we've never been able to easily release costumes. This was a fundamental issue that we didn't have time to address when first getting the game up and running in 2013, and we've been working around it ever since. This is also why models load slowly in character select - IG are wizards in that they managed to improve it, but they're working against a system that wasn't built around the idea of modular character components.
To fix it would require a complete rebuild of the art asset pipeline and asset packaging for the entire game, which is non-trivial work. Believe me when I say that if it was easy to fix, we would have fixed it long, long ago.
You can be sure if/when there's ever a new KI, we'll certainly address this issue. It's been frustrating for us as well.
I'm on xbox. I don't think I can crossplay with steam users sadlyJust bought this on steam, PM me if you wanna fight me later this week.

Q: How can I play with my friends on Xbox/Windows?
A: Cross-Network play is limited to Exhibition, Lobby mode, and Shadow Lords MP, however, you cannot invite friends to compete in Exhibition if they are not on the same platform. The easiest workaround for this is to create a lobby, name it with specific parameters, and have players search for that lobby.
Honestly I hope not, last thing I want (and I'm sure you'd agree) is an all new KI handicapped by this current gen..we know they won't make it ground up exclusive to Xbox One X to take advantage of the extra power either so screw it.

I'm assuming Xbox 'Two' isn't coming till Fall 2020 so the earliest I could see them teasing a KI2 is at E3 2019.
But with Phil saying they don't wanna announce games too early we probably won't even hear about a KI sequel till 2020..which is fine by me. I'd much rather wait a bit longer if it means a AAA budget polished next gen KI.
Same here. Now comes the hard part of sifting through all the changes that have occurred since I played this game on launch.
