Would you take it even if it meant a 1-2 year delay for KH3? :)I really wish they did a full remake of Re:coded on the HD ReMix collection.

I would, 100%.Would you take it even if it meant a 1-2 year delay for KH3? :)

I would like to see remakes of Days and Coded at some point. I get why they aren't on the collections, but it kind of sad seeing them shafted like that.
Especially when CoM gets to be in.
To be fair, CoM is simply an HD remaster of a PS2 game (that was a remake of a GBA game).
Yeah, I know that there was already a remake there. I just... don't like CoM.
Yeah but they weren't gonna let all the work they put into Re: CoM go to waste, and it's less of a KH1 redo than Coded is
That's a terrible take. Re:Coded changes gameplay from world to world, what with run and gun, turn based battles, and everything else it does. It's the most ambitious KH has ever been from a gameplay perspective. CoM has all of four relevant worlds in the entire game: Traverse Town, Destiny Islands, Twilight Town, and Castle Oblivion itself. Literally everything else is a redo with worst gameplay.
That doesn't make CoM worth playing in opposition to it being a movie. It's so irrelevant as a redo that you could skip it and lose virtually nothing
The debate wasn't whether or not it should be, it was why we got CoM instead of Coded or 358/2That doesn't make CoM worth playing in opposition to it being a movie.
SE liberally reuses assets to resell the same game over and over. Everyone knows this. The debate wasn't whether or not it should be, it was why we got CoM instead of Coded or 358/2

And I was only addressing your terrible take that Re:Coded was more of a KH1 redo than CoM when that's false. Re:Coded does a lot more than any other retread simply by offering gameplay innovation, something that literally no other series game does. KH1 plays like KH2 plays like BBS plays like DDD plays like CoM plays like Days. The core mechanics of run dodge jump block attack in an action oriented 3D space is the same in each game, with each throwing in deviance like the Command Deck, Sleights, and Limit Breaks. Re:Coded throws in worlds that patently don't work that way. There's a platformer, a rail shooter, and a turn based battle.
99% of Coded's story is in Castle Oblivion. There's more contrast between CoM and KH1's story than Coded and KH1
Pretty sure it was just the last area
Still not talking about the story. Read my actual comment please; the story in CoM could be adequately handled in a movie. There's more contrast between CoM and KH1's story than Coded and KH1
That's a lot of new bosses gone to waste.Still not talking about the story. Read my actual comment please; the story in CoM could be adequately handled in a movie.
How? They show up in 2FM and are much better. All if the plot isn't at the end. The first 99% of it is just KH1.
That's a lot of new bosses gone to waste.
Did that even exist in US when 1.5 came out?
When they announced 1.5, everyone knew 2.5 was coming.
Malyse, you foolish apprentice of a foolish man. You know we weren't gonna WAIT
I don't think we will ever see remakes of Days or Coded (second remake anyway), that is not to say they won't try to take notes of Re:Coded for a new game with focus on variety.
I feel like the time for remaking either of them is kinda in the past. Re:CoM happened in tandem with 2FM and while 2 was relatively new game. After 3 is released I don't know if they are interested (or the audience for that matter) in dipping back rather than looking forward. If there ever would have been remakes they would have already happened is what I'm saying.I don't know about that. They sold about as well as CoM did. Especially since those games reuse so much from 1 and 2 anyway.
Anyway, I don't really have any major issue with this stuff. I like CoM and Re:CoM gameplay enough not to be bothered with blatant Disney filler and I haven't even played Re:Coded to really be bothered with what we could have had in form of a remake. I think one reason Coded gets especially bad rep is that it was the second time they did the ''KH1 rehash'' when it came to worlds and kid sora and all that.
to add onto the earlier discussion about remakes, I would love to know how long it took them to remake CoM on PS2.
Granted they reused a lot of assets from KH1, but that doesn't mean they couldn't reuse assets in a hypothetical 358/2 or re:coded remake.
yep. can't believe I forgot about that lol.Probably a lot cheaper and quicker to do it during the PS2 era.
I think, when it's finally KH3's time to shine, I'm going to update my PS4. I've had my base PS4 since April 2014 and I really want to experience KH3 in it's best Playstation form so a PS4Pro would be lovely. I hope there's a bundle as well, cause that would really help.
I want to actually play good exclusives :P
Yeah, Xbox was initially included because it was unknown how this gen would go, but I sorta wish the Xbox port would be cancelled. They aren't committed to bringing the other Kingdom Hearts games to it and other Square Enix games from Japanese studios have not faired well in sales on the Xbox.I've been thinking about this for the longest fucking time, and this is by no means me saying people on Xbox don't deserve Kingdom Hearts 3, but every time I see a KH3 trailer and it ends with the PS4 and Xbox One logo I question why. This game just makes so little sense on Xbox.
I imagine when KH3 was originally announced back in 2013 it was announced for Xbox One mostly due to the uncertainty of the PS4. When the PS4 was announced back in February of 2013 I think everyone was worried about stuff like price, and for publishers and developers they were worried about the PS4 being another PS3 type situation. From that standpoint I think an Xbox One version made a lot of sense, but now it just doesn't.
Realistically who is going to play this game on Xbox One? Also if Square Enix wanted to expand the KH franchise to Xbox why not release the 1.5+2.5 collection on Xbox One along with 2.8? Forgive my ignorance as I didn't actually get into this series until last summer, but was there an exclusivity deal of sorts between Square and Sony back in the day on KH1 and 2? I ask because the Kingdom Hearts franchise has been on a number of systems that aren't playstation (Gameboy Advance, DS, 3DS), but KH1 and 2 have never appeared on any other systems.
It's such a none issue that I don't really know why I'm even asking, because at the end of the day it's going to be fairly easy to have Kingdom Hearts 3 on both Xbox One and PS4 since both consoles are x86 and very easy to develop and work with I guess I'm just wondering whose going to play the game on Xbox.
Nomura could give colored version of the last year's artwork. :P
