Welcome to the KojiPro Community |OT|
Instead of MGSEra I thought I'd create this thread so we can discuss all things KojiPro!
So, first things first.
Death stranding is currently the only game being developed by KojiPro so naturally, it'll be the game we'll be discussing in this thread. We're all waiting for Death Stranding and we all want to over analyse every detail, come up with conspiracy theories and generally have a good time laughing and talking about all things Kojima Productions.
Death stranding:
Death Stranding is an upcoming action video game developed by Kojima Productions and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment for PlayStation 4. It was announced on stage @ E3 2016 and currently doesn't have a set release date, although when interviewed by IGN Kojima stated that it would be out before 2020 and before the movie Akira's story year which is 2019.
According to Director and Producer Hideo Kojima, the game is said to be a game which features and explores the themes and connections (strands) between life and death. When pressed further about what this meant, he went on to give this as an example:
Kojima explained one of the game's main themes through a short story by Kōbō Abe, in which Abe says that the first tool created by humans was a stick, meant as protection by putting a distance between oneself and "bad things", and that the second tool was a rope, which is used to secure things one finds important. Kojima compared the main "tools" in action games – punching, shooting and kicking – to sticks, and said that in Death Stranding he wants people to communicate through the game equivalent of ropes.
What this means exactly is unclear but Kojima hinted that online connections to other players strands maybe a feature, but for now we'll simply have to resort to speculative discussions :)
Hope you guys enjoy the thread and if wanted someone can make us a KojiProEra Logo/Insignia if you guys feel we would be better served having one. Also it was a quick thread due to me being on mobile so any help with images, layout etc would be appreciated.
