Ah yes, restore his good name so he can (as the artical comment points out) keep sliding into the DMs of underage girls to flirt with them and call them jailbait.

joeygreco1985 This is the important part in the article and should be in the OP:

A spokesperson for the Orange County District Attorney's office told Kotaku that the case was dismissed "for lack of sufficient evidence to prove the case beyond reasonable doubt as a result of additional information that came to light in the investigation." Kotaku also reached out to Roiland's lawyers, but could not obtain a comment by the time of publication.

I wonder what this "additional information" is.
I still don't like Roiland though.

So now there is just all the other stuff hanging over his head that makes him a horrible person. Cool.

Also if you are going to make a thread the least you could do is throw quotes from the article into the OP.

They couldn't prove in court that he wasn't a domestic abuser but he's still a massive slimey piece of shit that thinks it should be ok to like underage girls

Nothing gonna make them groomer DMs go away though.

I wonder how long until he'll be back in the circuit like nothing happened...

Yeah the damage has clearly been done in terms of discovering that he's a giant piece of shit.

Like even if you take this update at face value that he's not guilty of domestic violence (and that's a big if because we all know why cases like this get dropped), there's still the incredibly creepy messages he was sending to underage girls.

Those allegations could be entirely false and he would still be a pretty big piece of shit.

So it really was just a case of not enough evidence. Doesn't prove his innocence at all then, especially with the other claims.

He'll have a new cartoon in the works by the end of the year.
Honestly doubt it. The domestic violence shit wasn't even the thing that made everyone drop his ass. It was the start sure, but all the creepy pedo shit that's 100% certain him is what made networks dump his ass and that's not going away.

Also, immediately after the domestic abuse case came to light people who worked on his shows and games came out of the woodworks to point out how awful it was to work with Roiland, which is also not going away.

I honestly couldn't imagine what network would still want to be associated with him.

NBC News originally reported on January 12 that a criminal complaint had been filed against the former director in May 2020 for "one felony count of domestic battery with corporal injury and one felony count of false imprisonment by menace, violence, fraud and/or deceit." He had reportedly been arrested for these charges and pleaded guilty to two counts in October of that same year. As a result, he was placed under a protective order and forced him to surrender any firearms in his possession.

A spokesperson for the Orange County District Attorney's office told Kotaku that the case was dismissed "for lack of sufficient evidence to prove the case beyond reasonable doubt as a result of additional information that came to light in the investigation."

These two reports are contradictory. Was the case dismissed or did he plead guilty in October?
