But for my purposes, he just became another weird stylistic florish from the show, not something worthy of attention.
That's fair, he personally hasn't done anything noteworthy to warrant much else.

Last season was what - 8 episodes? And we knew who the bad guy was by episode...5 think? And the story really wrapped up by episode 7; the final episode was really an epilogue almost setting up what was going to happen in the next season.
Think about it: at this point last season we had just seen the Bolero and were going nuts.

Maybe the last few episodes rescue the season, but so far this isn't great. The first few episodes of this season were actually quite good, but it all just ground to a screeching halt.
Completely agree. I was genuinely excited for the rest of season 2 after the first two episodes. But man oh man has it been a slog for the last 5.
Yeah the music in that scene felt out of place. It was a shame, it could have been really cool with the right song. The first red flag was when the dancing scene in the premiere was not how I thought it'd be D:

Yeah, I think the problem with this season is that last year you could say things were weird cause things are weird in David's head. This year things are weird because fuck it everything is weird, just go with it.So the whole narrative built around delusions hatching as an idea and infecting minds being a visual metaphor was thrown out the window and it turns out it was actually a monster this entire time.
Oh... okay.
Shit, I completely forgot about that. I do wonder what they have lined up though.I'm actually a little confused myself as to how the chattering teeth thing was related to the monk and then if that's related to the insanity creatures crawling into people's ears.
For the 1st part of your question: The way I took it is that the monk was a asymptomatic carrier (he has it and can spread it but doesn't show symptoms himself) of the teeth chattering thing. He "caught" it while at the monastery where the Shadow King was buried. There was that scene where David appeared to be at the monastery while all of the monks were slowly going mad, getting the teeth chattering, and some killed themselves. I took that as actually having happened, and that the monk at Division 3 escaped but continued to spread it to others.I'm actually a little confused myself as to how the chattering teeth thing was related to the monk and then if that's related to the insanity creatures crawling into people's ears.
He didn't really, but I'm not sure if that was an oversight by the writers or if it'll be important further down the road.Did I miss something? Did David ever pluck the insanity out of Kerry's head?
They'll throw some rocks around and then...I'm kind of hoping when David and Farrouk have a showdown they just end up punching each other a lot in the least impressive psychic battle ever.
Which I mean hell, its as good way to hide a body as I can think of.So the... monks literally sewed different parts of reality together to hide Farrouk's body
And Syd just parachutes in.
