The Twitter thread says it's from https://twitter.com/idisplayitIs that a custom stand for the Venator? Also, is the red really that red? I kinda expected a darker red like that of the Corsucant Guard Ship.

It's the stand from iDisplayIt, I like their stands for the Venator and Star Destroyer - 45° display works so well. And the red is definitely darker than it looks, I had it under my bright Lego building desk light, it makes the mid reds look almost blood red. I think the official color for the red used with the Venator is "Dark Red" so yeah definitely the same as the red used in the Guard Ship.Is that a custom stand for the Venator? The paradox is if they quadrupled the amount the detail it would actually have the thing looking so much better.
Had something annoying happen when trying to sell a used set on Ebay and need some advice.
I just had a buyer request a refund after receiving a set I sold, claiming it didn't look like the photos because I sent it deconstructed (the photos were fully constructed). I did not mention it would be deconstructed before sending it, because it seems to be an unspoken rule that sets are deconstructed before being sent (I did mention that there would be No Box and No Instructions). I've sold other sets with the same setup (pictures of the completed set, but sent deconstructed) with no complaints.
Is this 100% on me? Or do I have grounds to fight the return?

There's a bunch of leak groups that aren't open to general use due to takedown requests. They usually trickle down within a week or so most times. Why can't they do more like the Starry Night set? Looks like why I never care about the art sets.
Also where is that from? Not seeing it on any of the normal lego leaks stuff.

fuck yes Jang finally looking into non-Lego. Maybe it can finally pick up in the US as well, after EU has long seen the light.
100% right. I was distracted making bread and mixed him and Tiago up. My bad.You must be thinking of some other reviewer. Jang's not in the ambassador program AFAIK, and has reviewed other brands like cobi in the past.
*shudders in world map*
I said the same thing, but still got The Wave. Looks cool, but hated the build. While this looks pretty cool, after the Maps set I will never do another "Art" piece.
This has been my thought, and as crazy as it would be is why this set would require 12,000+ pieces to reach the detail id need to want to display itMilky way looked cool, but then I zoomed in and it looked like someone vomited.
Based on my past experience with LEGO, I wouldn't do well with those art pieces because I'd want to make sure the text on every stud was lined up perfectly straight. It was bad enough doing those megabloks pokemon 2d arts, where you had to keep the square tiles straight with even spacing.
Doing them was tedious, but at least they give you a little tool that helps to get them straight. I didn't find the building process on them to be enjoyable, but the end product is worth it. From a certain distance they look pretty fantastic, if you have any connection to the sprites from the games. I got all 4. But I wouldn't buy any more. Was debating on those but this is probably enough convincing to avoid them, cheers.
Oh god, this looks like a nightmare.
yeeeah I don't know. I like the colors, but, I mean, those are completely made-up anyway. It's literally just bags and bags of completely random tiny crap pieces for another 200 bucks, in colors suspiciously looking like leftover production that didn't sell. I'd bet you can get 90% of the parts of this for cents on bricklink, and this set will be at least 20-30% off in no time (and much more down the line).
Like, if y'all really gonna pay $199 for this, I don't know what to tell you next time anyone complains about LEGO's pricing lol
Have you thought about cutting everything down by a factor of 4/8/16?man I'd love to build a retro game screenshot out of lego, but it turns out pixel-perfect piece counts in the tens of thousands do actually get prohibitively expensive (and blow up the size lmao)
While I haven't seen it myself, somebody high up in the leaker community has seen it and confirmed open back. They didn't go into more details than that sadly, but I have no reason to doubt them. Sounds like extra precautions are being taken before leaks to make sure their sources don't get fingered.
The frog surplus thing is so weird, it makes no sense when you consider the space at Lego. It would be more coat effective to grind up surplus drives and sell the bits to other industries which they already do that to sit on the alleged surplus
Hah, that's great. Ok, long story short is a rumor a while ago had the reasoning for frogs being included in many odd spots and sets was that instead of producing 10,000 frogs, one or two extra zeros were added, suggesting either 100, 000 or 1,000,000 frogs were produced by error. Sets were then required to use frogs to reduce overstock. Many holes were poked in this story, which is why I responded that way. All good and I had a great laugh that it was coincidental.Wait. I was just making a joke based on a few kits and bags I've opened recently. Is this a real thing or did I just walk into your joke?

The milky way is such a bizarre set. Up close, it looks like some dystopian, puke-coloured cyberpunk city.

We're into nano and pico scale at that point, though I don't disagreeYou know, this way of looking at it is almost selling it to me lol. Just think of it as a crazy microscale city!
It took me a *long* time to realise that was the Milky Way set. What is all that random stuff supposed to be?! I thought it was some kind of sea creature at first

I was really looking forward to the Milky Way set,I don't mind how it's put together but man...wtf?!
