That bathtub scene is from Requiem for a Dream not black swan, but Aronofsky has gone on record saying Perfect Blue has an influence on many of his films.
It was extremely hard to legally own a copy of this movie in the United States until quite recently. Kon as a filmmaker should have his career celebrated with all the greats.Does it need more love though? I'm pretty sure it's one of the most highly regarded and well known non-Ghibli anime movies.
Tenchi in love is one of the greatest anime movies ever, and I'll fight anyone who says otherwise.
It's streaming on Amazon Prime and they did a reprint of the Bluray recently so thankfully it's not hard to get anymore.I recently watched Paranoia Agent, which really has me craving more of Kon's work. Is it all streaming anywhere, or do you have to hunt down blu-rays and DVDs?
I kind of hated it but it was still better than Kon's other work because it was at least kind of entertaining in a dumb way.
