Yes, we will be announcing the next games soon!
I'll be having a call this week to see if we can announce our localization project soon.
Actually, we firmly believe a release like CS being a Japanese Vita game could have sold way more units a year ago.
Also, does anyone else have trouble with backspace on this site? It like moves my cursor if I hit it too much into random places, just tried two different computers!

Yep. And this is a title that had been announced for a long time.Just as Kresnik mentioned:
I firmly believe you could've sold way more units of any game a year ago, regardless of genre or platform. Like you said it yourself, it's reaching market saturation and it's not something exclusive to the Vita.
I know you're just being realistic, but it's super disappointing when your response to another successful Vita sellout is "but we could have sold more years ago". I mean yeah, sure, you're probably right - but you're still selling out in like 48 hours with exactly the same amount of copies as the PS4 version. Isn't that something to be proud of? Shouldn't you be happy that despite Vita being end of life, your work engaging with the userbase early on has ensured that you've still got a thread full of fans excited for your new announcements and even more fans buying your releases?
I mean, you can't really ask LRG to be more transparent (a long running topic on this thread), and then be dissapointed when they are more transparent about their business. I don't think it's unreasonable or ungrateful for them to say that Vita would've sold more a year ago. It doesn't mean they don't care about Vita fans, it's just the reality of the market right now.
Doug and Josh can be both big fans of the Vita community and pragmatic about the state of Vita.
If people keep selling their Vitas and moving on to Switch then that's a reason...
So does that mean that 3k, an amount which is disappointing for a Japanese Vita release, is the ceiling they can expect to reach for a Japanese PS4 game? I mean, that console is going from strength to strength at the moment (I believe the last year was the highest selling in its history and likely to be the peak year) yet they also shifted 3k copies on that in a very similar timescale.
I completely understand - Vita can't last forever and LRG will need to move on eventually and have to prepare for that. But I feel like what is a slowing down of LRG's business in general (at least in terms of stuff isn't gone in the blink of an eye anymore) is being blamed as
And I think more than anything, it's just disappointing because Doug himself was Tweeting a while ago about not wanting to come into the thread anymore because it was pessimistic beyond all belief - which it was. And now a few days later his contribution after a successful sell-out run is "could've been better". If that's not breeding pessimism among the people posting here, I don't know what is :P
Yeah, I'm not being pessimistic just realistic. Like I'm worried some of the things I have personally planned for the Vita could backfire due to support dropping. I LOVE the platform and want to keep it going as long as I can, but I can't force people to keep their Vitas or convince Sony to support it more.
I think it's a little crazy for people to be upset with my comment as it's just me sadly seeing the writing on the wall. I'm still going forward with my big plans and huge runs that are even at the peak of our success, are scary. I just want you to know that I may end up being bankrupt living in a house with furniture made out of Vita cases. But it will be my choice and no one's fault, just how the market shifted. I have big games coming that I'm hoping will have more worldwide appeal so help sustain their size and plans. Right now LRG's biggest audience is still mostly the USA, so with these, I hope to hit more countries that are still fighting the Vita fight as they will be only physical English version in existence for Vita.
What fat on Vita?If only you guys cut the fat earlier (cancelling possible games) and just stuck with the meat (good titles), the vita couldve seen a longer time with you guys. But man, there were some questionable titles last year that probably turned a lot of people off. But the fact the vita is still selling out in the same time frame as a console that has so many more units is still impressive.
What fat on Vita?
The only thing in hindsight that is maybe considered that to me is Nova-111 and that's just based on the fact that no one who missed it asks for it and that it doesn't move often at shows. Mecho Tales actually moves and is requested.
I mean, whether or not they are great games is subjective anyway. You aren't going to win this argument, and plenty of people were happy to buy those games. Sorry Limited Run isn't catering to your specific taste...but you don't have to buy every game they release.I am sure whatever titles I mention, you will tell me they are great games.

No one should be buying games they don't want. If you do, that's entirely on you.Yeah, I just feel some titles have turned off people from buying in general. Vita and PS4 titles have seen longer times to sell out, even with smaller run numbers

Facts:
The Vita has been on life support for years.
The Switch is converting Vita players every day.
I see polls every week asking about preferred platform, and Switch usually beats PS4 AND Vita, with Vita typically being last by a large margin.

Frankly, I've always thought that LRG seeing games that don't sell out in five minutes as disappointments is a really weird point of view. We haven't seen any LRG release that took longer than a weekend to sell out, compared to most of the competition which usually takes weeks to sell out. Heck, Strictly Limited Games *still* has copies of Tokyo 42.
IMO, it's far better to have stock sitting on shelves on Saturday, than having everything disappear in five minutes and getting a huge amount of bile thrown at you as a result.

I suppose we also have to consider that the novelty factor has worn off. LRG's past 100 releases now.Agreed, which is why I find it so weird when people criticize LRG for having everything sell out within minutes when that hasn't happened in a long time.

Oooh, this sounds very exciting. Any news on if preorders for the normal edition will take place like with Ys Origin? I think doing so for the first game may be a good idea to see how many switch fans would want the games, to make future releases adjusted for demand, since I have a feeling that the publicity of the first game will lead to Wonder Boy levels of sales
They said they didn't have to, since the prints will be significantly larger compared to the PlayStation releases.
yes.So is VA-11 Hall-A still happening? Last time read anything about it must have been months ago :/
Last update says shipments from the blowout sale should be going out some point this week.I purchased some leftover stock nearly a month ago. Where's my shipment?
You misspelled Phantom Breaker.
