It's 2020 Time to lay down out predictions before they are taken from us and replaced with actual information.

CES is today and AMD might reveal Big Navi, RDNA 2, or even the 6XXX series. Or possibly nothing.

Sony might reveal the PS5 and its specs. (Unlikely this a consumer trade show not a random wired article.)
Though they may hint at a PS Meeting

Either way with this new year it has become time to lock in our Spec Predictions for Xbox SeX, PS5 and even for the brave Xbox Lockhart (which may or may not ever actually go on sale.)

Perhaps the Admins can give a nice Member Tag for the Mystic Megs among us who Nail either system?

Console and Launch Predictions:
SKU
: Sony PlayStation 5
CPU: No idea
GPU: No idea
Memory: 24 GDDR6
Storage: 2TB SSD
Price: $399
Launch Date: November 2020
Three Key Launch Titles: Horizon 2, N/A about other two (Gran Turismo 7?)
Physical Appearance/Materials/Dimensions: Black box, with blue trim and a shiny black glossy finish somewhere, logo that says PS5
Colors: Black at launch, later a white version that I'm totally going to want
Additional: Backwards compatibility with PS4, and at least PS1 and PS2 games. Hoping for PS3 as well.

SKU: Microsoft Xbox Series X
CPU: No idea
GPU: No idea
Memory: 24 GDDR6
Storage: 2TB SSD
Price: $449-$499
Launch Date: November 2020
Three Key Launch Titles: Halo Infinite, Forza 8 and a new IP (Everwild possibly?)
Colors: Vertical, tall black box with an Xbox logo on it
Additional: Backwards compatibility with all Xbox One games, unsure if OG Xbox-360 will be native or have to be ported again

Bonus Questions:
A. Who will sell more in 2020, Microsoft or Sony?:
  1. Worldwide: Sony
  2. In North America: Sony
  3. In Europe: Definitely Sony
  4. In Japan: Not even a question, Xbox is kind of dead in Japan.

B: If Two (or more) next gen Xbox versions launch in 2020, which will sell more? (Choose one):
  • Series X will overall sell more units at launch, but wouldn't be surprised if a Series S releases and eventually catches up, but it won't overlap X.
C: Does the Dual Shock 5 have a Screen of any kind, anywhere? (Y/N): No, but the touchpad will still be present.

D: Will there be a fighting game at launch on either console? (Y/N): For Xbox, possibly a new Killer Instinct, for Sony, I could see Street Fighter V possibly ported near launch to have a fighting game near or at launch. But, for all I know, there could be a brand new fighting game for launch of either system.

  • D2: Will it be exclusive?(Y/N): Killer Instinct would, SF5 would remain exclusive to Sony. If we get an all new fighting game by launch that isn't these two, it would likely be on both platforms.

  • D3: If Yes, To who?: Killer Instinct on Xbox, SF5 port on PS5

E: Who Wins E3 2020 (Choose one)?
  • Sony wins due to the sheer amount of diverse and quality first party titles, as well as great third party support. Sequels to Horizon, God of War, Spider-Man and any brand new IP's will dominate the show.
  • Microsoft will come close! Halo will be absolutely big, but some die-hard critics will bring up skepticism because of Halo 4 and 5. Forza 8 will be fine, but it's another Forza title, but it will look beautiful. I am sure the new IP's Microsoft are cooking up will look fine, but honestly I don't think they can compete to the likes of God of War, The Last of Us Part II, Horizon or Ghost of Tsushima, until proven otherwise. I think this is honestly going to be a challenge this gen for Microsoft: they will have brand new IPs, but they will need to be able to challenge and stand against Sony's.
  • Nintendo will be absolutely fine! I kind of prefer to keep Nintendo separate, as they're doing their own thing, and for many the Switch compliments another system that people play on. I think Nintendo will do very well with Breath of the Wild 2, Smash updates, Mario Odyssey 2 (if it happens), and will surprise many with brand new games and hopefully Nintendo's next big IP. Animal Crossing will have launched by then and will have done extremely well, being Nintendo's highest ranked game on Metacritic for the year. Xenoblade 1 Remake will likely be out around this time and will sell and review very well, as for many it will be their first time playing this game. Will be the most successful Xenoblade game. Additionally, Bayonetta 3 will be present and many will make threads about how stylish the combat is going to be. While not announced at E3, I could see Nintendo announcing a new model of the Switch, that's more powerful and outputs at higher resolution.
  • Other: Third parties will continue to dominate the show with fresh and exciting new IP and sequels. Ubisoft will have another fantastic year.

F: Will either console do a staggered launch or will both launch worldwide (Choose one):
  • Both Launch Worldwide. I believe Sony will launch the PS5 worldwide for a universal launch day. Microsoft, I think will have learned their lesson from the Xbox One and their "tier 2/3 countries" controversy and have a worldwide launch as well.

G: Will Nintendo Switch sell more than either next gen console during Christmas 2020?
(Y/N):
No, but the Switch will continue to sell very well. But the thirst for the new consoles is huge, and everyone is eyeing the PS5 and Xbox Series X. I see the PS5 selling the most, with Xbox behind, and then the Switch doing well, but being in third.

H: Will Knack Reveal himself in 2020? (Y/N): Knack 3 will definitely come at some point! In Cerny we trust!
