They really shouldn't have modelled it in the first place.
Is that bad? :Poh ffs there was a vestige shortly after the
and I wasted a temp seed to make a vestige there lol. Like, of course there was, but I really didn't want to lose my 10k souls because I had no healing or health after the boss. Oh well, I've been stingy with them anyway, still have 4 left.Congregator of Flesh

Is there no beautiful bright area in this game? After going through those mountains I finally went out and was greeted by a bright forest. I was like finally some light, walked a few steps into a trap that dropped me into a garbage dark poisonous swamp... Please tell me not all future zones are dark moody damps.
Personally I didn't mind how D3 looked. It had issues, they weren't the graphics.the game was made for diablo 3 haters that cried about colors :3

Thats a knee...
I'm super interested in this game but several of the reviews mentioned how hard it was to navigate the world. Saying it was really confusing and they got lost several times. As much as I love souls combat my memory is so bad I get lost in games easier than I should. What's everyone's impressions of the map. Is it as confusing as a few people have said?

Confusing isn't the word I'd use. I haven't been confused in regard to where I can/should go. Finding how to get there can be tricky as you need to pay attention to both worlds while exploring though. There are a lot of shortcuts and areas are interconnected, so it's hard to say how you would fare into this world really. I can see how having a bad memory could be an issue for this game however. You're gonna need to remember doors and places you need to return to for instance.
Have you played Dark Souls 1? Did you have issue navigating its world? If you played it and managed fine, then you're gonna be ok in this one too.
I have significant complaints about the movement and combat in the game. Everything has way too much forward momentum and they don't do the action game thing where your attack animations won't cause you to go careening off of ledges. I've gone flying off of ledges more often than I care to admit because I vaguely misjudged my distance from a ledge, hit my light attack, and I slid forward. Rolling has a similar issues. So outside of performance how are people actually finding the game? Good boss challenge? Exploration and itemization interesting? Combat fun and versatile?
What's magic like in this? Mostly offensive spells or are there lots of buffs and support spells? I really enjoyed replaying the Souls games (and Elden Ring) with a battlemage sort of build, with most of my damage coming from weapons but using magic to augment it and buff myself - is that something anyone's been doing or I have I misunderstood how it works in this game?

I fully invested in radiance (which is the holy stat in this game), thinking it would be easy mode, but surprisingly the magic is well balanced in this game. Well at least the holy one, I'm currently leveling the inferno stats to also play with fire and Umbral magic.
Radiance allows me to dps from ranged (which anyone can do with a bow/crossbow btw), buff myself to take less damage, cure ailment, heal myself or ally with an aoe on the ground, enchant my weapon with holy (which I don't use as my weapon is already always infused) and summon cool things I'm not gonna spoil here.
So far the Inferno spells I have are damage oriented, but I remember seeing one to boost your damage too.
Umbral is the dps/debuff magic. Poison, rotten, lower defense, imbue weapon with poison, cast magic missiles/balls.
That's what I am playing, paladin with heal, holy weapon buff and dispel. You can get all these spells very early in the game right after the first boss. What's magic like in this? One shot???? I took me like 6-8 tries, buffing your weapon with fire or holy was really helpful.

.... that sneaky not... But as I said he is weak to fire buff your weapon it will deal super damage to him! Those fire salts or what they are called.
Yup and there's vibration. I have steam input disabled for that game.Does it show the PS button icons when using a dual sense on PC?
Tell me that this stupid mimic has a different item name and I'm not reading. It has killed me twice in Umbra when I was surviving looking for a flower bed or checkpoint.
What a terrible idea.

I mean, the mimic cant attack you if you dont try to pick up the item. You can soulflay it to kill it instantly.
If the item's flame has a serpentine effect going on, it's a mimic.
