They're going to bring back Ward somehow. Strucker might be Taskmaster, but Ward won't give up that theory of him taking up the mantle without a fight.
There will be an episode on the night Infinity War releases and three more episodes after that. They're in a bit of a rough place here and I wouldn't be surprised if they decided to wait until a potential season 6 to respond to Infinity War.
First, as the movie was only recently moved up by a week so if they were planning to have the movie impact the show at the end of the season, they likely planned it around having two episodes after the film releases, not three.
Second, as they likely won't know if they're renewed until they are finished or close to finishing filming on the finale, they need to wind down this season's plot while also giving closure in case the series ends. Adding in an Infinity War tie-in might be too much.
Third, based on the Avengers 4 set photos, Infinity War could end with...
all of reality and time being completely screwed.
And if that's the case, that's a lot for the writers to bring in for 2-3 episodes on top of their own story.
So I don't think any of should be surprised if the show's reaction to Infinity War is in a potential season 6. Fingers crossed on that one.
As long as they don't confiscate phones at the panel Saturday, I'll update this thread live to whatever they say and if anything not stupid comes up in the Q&A.
"The steps you take don't have to be big, they just have to be in the right direction," or something like that. I don't think that's an exactly right quote.
Did they specifically say how much time passed between the crew's abduction at the diner and their return to the present? We can assume they were gone for at least the half year Fitz was imprisoned, but any longer than that?
A big thanks to CopperPuppy and H. Cornerstone for answering my question, but the question I should have asked was why Jemma's words made Deke realize that she's his grandma, so thanks for that, Evil.

I feel like Hale or someone mentioned something about them being completely off the radar for 3 (or 6?) months. Maybe not within that time frame, but I feel like someone has mentioned it on-screen.
Speaking of which; are we still expecting to see current Fitz die, only to see frozen Fitz become unfrozen? I think a good way to do that would be to have Deke think he shouldn't exist anymore, but then it would lead to him realizing that Fitz might still be alive somewhere.

As near as timeline enthusiasts can tell, the SHIELD team was abducted sometime in May 2017 and returned to their own time in early December 2017. So yeah, it's been about a six-month time jump.

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Casts Craig Parker as Formidable Alien
TVLine has learned exclusively that Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has cast onetime Legend of the Seeker baddie Craig Parker in the role of Taryan, a formidable wheeler-dealer from another planet.
Parker will debut on the ABC series toward the end of Season 5. Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. continues its season this Friday at 9/8c, with Episode 14 of 22.
In addition to his aforementioned run on the Legend of the Seeker fantasy series, Parker's previous TV credits include Reign (as Lord Chancellor Stéphane Narcisse), Spartacus: War of the Damned and New Zealand's Shortland Street.
They really do use Fitz as this universe's Reed Richards, in all the right ways. Can't wait for it, even if it might just be another fear dimension illusion.
edit can't stop watching it lol. The "There's WORK that needs to be finished" delivery is so fucking good.
So is Gravitron finally making an appearance this season?! It's like the one thread they haven't closed, but it certainly looks like they're dancing around it now...
"I guess it runs in my DNA" ROFL that may not have been the real Fitz but it's still hilarious Deke's just gonna keep doing this stuff until he gets it.
