Adding some more context to the protests. Keeping folks anon dude to how Iran tries to suppress facts of things going on.

Some More details of Mahsa injuries and how some things were spread.

-The last picture of mahsa amini showed her bleeding from ears.

-Her CT scans were leaked by a hacker group which suggested she was hit in the head.

    How Protests have expanded.

-In the said protests a 10 year old kid was shot at which she luckily survived.

-The Protests started as people being against mandatory hijab but after the death of two other people and the footage of police being brutal to protestors got to the point that a lot of people want a complete change.

-People are trying to get the attention of the world with the #mahsa_amini hashtag for help and coverage since the internet can get cut off at any moment.
-Iran's president is lying to the world that hijab isn't mandatory in Iran which it absolutely is.

-women are either cutting their hair in support of mahsa amini or burning their head scarves.

-The protests fired up specially after last weeks news of a 16 year old boy getting murdered when he told the police about his boss and coworkers raping him and the police did nothing for a few days.

It seems there are many many social failures happening in short period of time. And protests are expanding to not only be about what happened to Mahsa, but also violence against protesters and generally the police not helping vs sex crimes in general.

    Reposting:

A rather excellent article by the NYT analyzing footage that has appeared on social media. Some choice excerpts:

    Attacking symbols of the state
Multiple videos show a consistent theme of protesters attacking structures and symbols that represent Iran's government, in some cases setting fire to municipal structures. In the northern city of Amol, demonstrators set fires in the complex of the governorate building, and elsewhere took down portraits of the supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and the founding leader of the Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini.

Mourning those killed by the regime
In the past, the families of those killed by security forces have been intimidated by the authorities into keeping quiet. But this latest round of protests has seen videos of funeral services uploaded online showing displays of public mourning, such as a woman cutting her hair over a coffin.

    Women in the lead
Across Iran, videos show that women are most often at the forefront of the recent demonstrations, rallying crowds of both women and men by engaging in symbolic acts of defiance. One of these acts, women burning their hijabs, has become a dominant theme of the protests, representing both solidarity with Ms. Amini and pushback against the mandatory wearing of hijabs, one of the most visible symbols of the repression of women under the Islamic Republic.
The large number of women leading the protests "in so many of the videos that we see, we saw that in 2009, too," said Dr. Bajoghli, referring to the 2009 uprising in Iran. "But here the numbers seem to be much greater."

Women put their bodies on the line
Videos also show women in direct, physical confrontation with security forces, not only putting themselves at the forefront of demonstrations, but physically pushing back against the police when challenged.

"The big willingness to put your body on the line and to say, 'I'm coming at you and I'm going to fight you with my own body' — that I haven't seen," said Dr. Bajoghli. "And that, I think, is what is causing this to be so difficult for the state to deal with."

Protests cross-cut geographical, ethnic, and class divisions
The Times' analysis of videos posted to social media also reveals how the current protests are widespread geographically, ethnically and among various social classes.

Footage has emerged from some of the country's most religiously conservative cities like Qom, and its southern islands, as well as ethnic minority areas like Oshnavieh, which is home to Kurdish-Iranians.

    Solidarity with Kurdish minority
Experts also found it noteworthy that the nationwide protests were sparked by the death of a woman from the Kurdish ethnic minority — signaling a new solidarity between disparate regions of the country. In one video from Iran's capital, Tehran, the Kurdish feminist chant: "Women, Life, Freedom" — is said in its original Kurdish language, and not translated into Persian, the primary language used throughout most of the country.

Iran is abolishing the morality police, according to an announcement by the attorney general carried on state media, following months of protests set off by the death of a young woman who was being held by the force for supposedly violating the country's strict Islamic dress laws.

The decision, reported by state news outlets late Saturday night, appeared to be a major victory for feminists who have sought for years to dismantle the force and for the protest movement ignited by the death of the young woman, Mahsa Amini, 22, in September. The unrest has amounted to one of the biggest challenges in decades to Iran's system of authoritarian clerical rule and the decision to scrap the morality police was the government's first major concession to the protesters.

Iran Has Abolished Morality Police, an Official Suggests, After Months of Protests

The move, which the government did not confirm, might be a concession to the protest movement that erupted after the death of a young woman in the custody of the morality police.

Not sure if this will stick or if anyone can trust them to actually do this.
