PS5 has increased market share substantially relative to Xbox but the overall market is shrinking for the pair is what seems to be happening at this point so PS5 is just seeing minor gains.

Don't have the data to back this up of course, but I imagine that a good portion of that 7% increase are people who bought an Xbox One last gen and switch to Playstation this gen. I think the PS4 and PS5 sales are roughly the same worldwide, so I take it to mean that Playstation is cutting into Xbox's market share.

The PS5 itself is selling great.
Primary questions are about the console market 'as a whole' and whether there's a hard cap on how many consoles can be sold/if there's a way to increase that cap and profit margins on the consoles/first party games and services.
Generally we would've seen a permanent price drop on the PS5 by now, but we haven't, due to the profit margin issues.
It is doing exceptionally well, but they need to increase profitability in relation to the massive revenue.

Recently re played ridge racer 7 on PS3 and going back to the dual shock 3 was super rough, hah.
Seems like Sony is doing fine, but they want to be doing better than fine, and are rightly being concerned about the blooming costs of development. The firings and the PSN requirements still suck, though.
I loved my ps3 I was just mad at myself for waiting until TLOU was released to get it, but the back catalog was amazing.
