Every week I think the same thing. Two years of dominance and all you see isIt's incredible to see how Switch keeps being on top with Nintendo fighting alone while Sony, with arms crossed, has received exclusive games every week since mid January.
End of an era, I really wanted to know how Yoshi performed :(
Wow at Sekiro! The From Software name is huge now huh? It will beat DMC5 by a decent margin...

Lol. Actually I have never played any Atelier games even though I am interested to try the series one day (hell, I have the very first Atelier game on PSX but still haven't put it into PS3). I do love reading about the sales of these niche titles though.Atelier doing better than most recent entries. Best one since Sophie, right? Pretty cool! I don't think anyone besides Jim_Cacher may care about this tho. lol
Good to see Chocobo doing so well too. People were starving for the bird I guess. SRW numbers are overall a bit disappointing, the franchise can't get over its decline.
Still counts!
Hopefully with there being alternatives, climbing Link isn't making his last appearance.

It may be declining in Japan but the Asia releases are apparently making up more than half of total sales.Atelier doing better than most recent entries. Best one since Sophie, right? Pretty cool! I don't think anyone besides Jim_Cacher may care about this tho. lol

We get Famitsu data for almost all big software launches - wouldnt worry about it.such a shame we will never see first week japan sales of Pokemon Sword and Shield, definitely was looking forward to those. I guess we still got famitsu but meh.
Last Media Create thread.

crazy how a decade and a half of MC sales data threads ends this week for me. i hope there's decent replacements to keep track of sales.
Was kinda hinting at the fact that when it comes to Nintendo games and hardware, Media Create was the most reliable out of the two. Famitsu numbers could be wrong, usually they are a couple of thousand copies off compared to MCWe get Famitsu data for almost all big software launches - wouldnt worry about it.

Maybe the price too plays a role, there's a big difference there.Trying to figure out if there's anything we can surmise from SRW being PS4 > NSW but Mystery Dungeon being NSW > PS4.
Genre difference? (But then roguelikes are more strategic than some RPGs, so I'd assume there would be some crossover in interest between the audiences)
Games on previous platforms? (If we're talking in terms of Mystery Dungeon, that's more associated with handhelds of late; if we're talking in terms of Final Fantasy, that's more associated with Playstation, although there's been recent movement with the franchise on Switch prior to this with the classic rereleases. SRW has been Playstation-centric for a while)
Promotion? (Mystery Dungeon had appeared in Nintendo Directs, I don't know if SRW turned up in the Japanese ones)

So Atelier Lulua sold slightly better than Lydie & Suelle but still lost out to Firis. Not a good result at all imo, especially since the trilogies tend to sell worse with each new entry. Back to the drawing board, Gust.
Will be weird to not have a MC thread. I've been following for over a decade on GAF and here.

https://www./threads/media-create-sales-5-14-5-20.158204/page-15#post-6534237I know. It's unbelievable. I announced my plans to get married here in a "Vinnk's Village" report. This Friday is my 11th wedding anniversary. And I now have 4 kids..
Cheesemeister made this graphic for me...
Seems like yesterday...
The division between "Playstation" and "Nintendo" franchises in Japan is big. More family oriented or kid friendly stuff will sell better on Nintendo usually, while big western/AAA/"hardcore" experiences have their home with Sony.Trying to figure out if there's anything we can surmise from SRW being PS4 > NSW but Mystery Dungeon being NSW > PS4.
It was in the latest direct.Promotion? (Mystery Dungeon had appeared in Nintendo Directs, I don't know if SRW turned up in the Japanese ones)
There is a significant price difference between Firis and Lulua so I don't really think it is a bad result. It is up in revenue.
