Switch hardware on the rise despite the shortages and PS4 faces significant supply issues too.

Switch stock a little better than last week, but not enough. PS4 stock is dire!

Switch is about 250k away from passing its 2019 Q1-Q3 total. Could do it before the current quarter ends if some decent stock arrives (next week seems to have some big restocks).

Yeah i think we'll see 5 million lifetime, started to have some doubts a while ago but now i'm confident.

AC cleared 100k yet another week as expected. Hopefully next week's increased HW stock will balance out the natural decline and 100k will be reached again. Amazing Splatoon2 resurgence. Sword/Shield also returned after a few weeks of absence. The effect of the DLC should start kicking in soon. PS4 seems to be facing serious shortages, isn't it?

Pokémon legs are normally cut off by announcements of the next Pokémon game but, this year, we don't have that and have DLC which could boost it back up. We are in new territory

Agreed, I'm definitely not ruling out the possibility that the game legs on for a very long while. I just think it's a bit premature to say that it;s overwhelmingly likely to outsell Smash.

Pokémon had a year off in 2015, right? Perhaps we can do some comparisons with that year to get a feel of what could be possible for Pokémon legs.

I agree with this honestly. S&S will not have the same duration of legs as Ultimate because there will be a new Pokemon game on the Switch very likely.

But that was with a remake which sells less than starts of new generations.
