The price is really holding the Switch. It could be doing much higher numbers with a price drop (but maybe Nintendo rather keep the margins?)

It's pretty normal
A specific reason to why Switch had better numbers last year this week?
I for sure though it was going to be in line with that this year as well..
Not at all, unless you want it to be.Seems like a bit of an "ouch" situation for Switch and Pokemon there?

SM and USUM dropped over 80% when you factor in the dual packs.Let's Go drop basically matches the prior pokemon games drops at 75% down on the second week (Both Sun and Moon as well as Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon dropped 75%.) At present, looks like Let's Go is going to have similar legs to the previous pokemon games. So the smaller opening is going to affect it.
For those saying that the Let's Go games were going to have better legs... we'll have to wait and see on that. Second Week looks like regular pokemon legs to me. And I imagine the game will follow a similar sales pattern to the previous games as well in Japan.
Now it's the waiting game until Smash really. That game is going to have some pretty big numbers.

I think it will have better legs than past Pokemon games. It'll be one of the go-to games people pick up when buying a Switch. And this is the first Pokemon game on the Switch so no competition. And with it being tied to Pokemon Go it should remain relevant and in the public's mind.Let's Go drop basically matches the prior pokemon games drops at 75% down on the second week (Both Sun and Moon as well as Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon dropped 75%.) At present, looks like Let's Go is going to have similar legs to the previous pokemon games. So the smaller opening is going to affect it.

Kinda meh numbers overall for Nintendo. Good debuts for the PS4 titles.
The Sony fanbase in Japan seems to be really transforming generally into western game fans.
I doubt it. Audiences are very different.I wonder if that is because those western games aren't on the Switch and if they were folks would buy it there instead.
Now those are some evergreens, good lord.
No reason to think that. It did 125K last year, with Minecraft bundle, the rise of sales because of holidays and the smash hype it will easy sell more.
Maybe we can expect a 150K week.
Reflects PlayStation's transition to a western console over the past two generations. The Sony fanbase in Japan seems to be really transforming generally into western game fans.
If/when we get more western releases on the Switch that are day and date with the PS4 version we can see. In the next month or so the Switch will have outsold the PS4 LTD and that gap will only grow larger and larger. At some point I'd think any game would do better on Switch just given how many more people own one. But that case study may never happen if western devs don't start considering the Switch
Yep. Basically, it's 10 years of western focus already and increasing. That eventually created this fanbase.Reflects PlayStation's transition to a western console over the past two generations.
You're jinxing things every week!
It's fine overall. Considering what's on the horizon there isn't much to worry about. Smash Special will pish dumb hardware. The system wasn't as stromg in 2018 as I would have hoped though. The lack of hardware pushing software in H1 was the main culprit.
Second artbook announced for December 28th. It was actually teased in the game itself (more precisely Deepsea Metro), which is really neat.
Good Switch week, what's left? Mario and Smash? It should rise above 300k the Smash week.
Pokemon had a pretty normal drop; will drop again in the next few weeks, will rise before Christmas, and then drop completely the next year, won't join the evergreen group. Used sales will hit this game hard; that's pretty easy to predict, since it's normal for single player RPGs.
What will sell more worldwide? Pokemon Let's Go or BotW? That's the real question IMO, I'm leaning on BotW more and more; especially since when the new Pokemon is announced next year, Let's Go will be forgotten.
