A very good week for Nintendo. Odyssey crossing 1 million, Splatoon 2 crossing 1.5 million, MK8D a week or two off from 1 million, and BOTW Switch over 700k ring very well for the console's prospects.

Curious how the Digimon sales compare to previous ones.

did pretty bad. RE5 Gold Edition opened at 140k. Of course: RE5 sold much better to begin with and people bought RE7 DLC online but this was also a great way to increase consumer awareness and find a sizeable amount of new customers. It didn't work.

Yeah anecdotal reports are putting this next week at 300k+. Not sure what the ceiling is yet, but there have apparently been restocks far more often than in previous weeks.

Odyssey proving to be the main Switch title this December like I thought. It might push 200k+ next week. Splatoon is literally right on my trajectory I predicted out.

Pokemon continues to perform quite well in its own right. I was wrong about this 3rd version being a bridge to far for the franchise. I thought an off year would have really benefited the brand, but Nintendo proves me wrong with some easy money.

I think it will do around 70k next week and 40k the following week. Pretty close but still down despite the great first semester.

Sony messed up the holiday releases for PS4 in 2017. They had a great campaign and support last year.

It's been years Sony has abandoned the holiday season. Yeah, last year we had FFXV and revisions but they didn't really have long-lasting impact. With PS4 form factor, Sony doesn't stand a chance in Japan, plus it doesn't have the audience to perform really well in December. Last platform that did well during holidays was PSP.
