Obviously this is all scripted and not yet interactive, but the level of detail truly makes me wonder if we'll see the death of the uncanny valley in the next 10 years or so.

Also the part where it gestures to the camera really creeps me out.

What do you think era, will we see I, Robot on the street in the next few years?

Are we all going to ignore that robot stuck in a perpetual scream in the background?

I hate all these humanistic emotes they give robots like they're anywhere close technologically to emulating life. Even with billions of $ behind them, robots can't even identify a road consistently.

Super cool. Can't wait until the porn military service? industry gets their hands on it.

Looks like CG (reflections/materials). But i'm not sure if that's just my brain reconciling the horror.

I always feel like an ass saying this kinda stuff for some reason but outside of a base technical level where this is impressive, it doesn't really come off all that creepy or realistic to me.

It reminds me of the start of every new console gen when all the AAA devs "show off" their upgraded face tech by doing these over the top exaggerated expressions to show how well the geometry can deform now and the fancy subspace scattering skin stretches with realistic pores and whatever and it's like... human expression is often pretty subtle in reality.

Beyond that, the rest of it moves, well, like a robot. It's a puppet, a hop skip and a jump from something like the motorized puppetry used in movies or the recent Chucky series. It's cool, and it looks neat, but it's not exactly I, Robot like we're waking up to the machine uprising already in progress.

I think there will be a 'wow' moment in the next 5-10 years when alot of these technologies that were being developed independently converge, ie, great robotics converging with advancement sin AI/ speech recognition, deep learning etc

That is a nice looking output kit for some AI to have. Hope something proper gets developed to make use of it.

It's not creepier than that THING behind it (the one with the blue glowing eyes). THAT's nightmare fuel. That's something a child would see and immediately say, "Monster!!!"

Maybe I'm just technophobic but if you combine this with the Replika.ai tech with Boston Dynamics movement and weapon potential and this is a frightening future for air breathers.
