Ozil has now been deleted from the video games, with Pro Evolution's Chinese publishers NetEase saying, via the Evening Standard , that the German has "hurt the feelings of Chinese fans and violated the sport's spirit of love and peace. We do not understand, accept or forgive this!"

The Chinese government have also hit out at Ozil, accusing him of being "blindfolded by fake news" over the affair, which the Premier League is monitoring due to their business interests in China.

This is a bit of a crossover from this topic, but given we're now dealing with NetEase censoring a game due to someone speaking, I think it's worth its own topic in Gaming Era.

The Arsenal team should stand in solidarity and say if Ozil is out, they're all out.

Won't happen though.

Oh wow, Özil is having a spine, good for him. Still kinda sucks that he is kind of selective with which dictator he condems and which he supports, but it's something I guess.
