I could see Microsoft buying EA. The sports games will stay multiple platform, but it will give customers stronger incentive to subscribe to Gamepass if Fifa and Madden are available to play day one. EA and Microsoft already have a deal with each other's subscription service as well.

I see we already have a massive thread rehashing the same talking points as every single other acquisition thread. Take a shot for every time you see the words SEGA or EA

Well yes. It would definitely get a very different reaction, as the situation wouldn't really change for anyone. If MS would've basically funded some studio for years for exclusivity and then bought it, wouldn't that feel way more natural and expected even?
Bizzare, BioWare, Double Helix, DICE, Angel Studios.
They did that and all of these were still bought out. If you do not make a move for a developer, someone else will.

Buying an established third party publisher or developer will always have a very negative side in how the gaming community reacts to it. It's perfectly understandable and there's no way around it. It might be where this industry is going, but it still isn't a good thing as a whole.
Neither here nor there. The gaming community reacts according to how moves affect their platform of choice. There are users who stated they never needed to buy Xbox because they have PC, a huge amount that stated that there was nothing that Microsoft could do to convince them to get their console. That is this very community. This is the same community that stated that Microsoft needs to bolster their first party output yet will complain months on end when that is done.

We have a good amount of gamers that do not have a problem with timed exclusives, unless they are getting them. That do not have a problem with consolidation (and we have threads on the same) if their platform of choice is making moves. There is not pleasing this population.

I'd really like to see evidence that Microsoft have learned how to better manage studios and projects before they gobble up even more of the industry.
Some of us would just like to see better quality games coming out on Game Pass day and date.
