MS is several magnitudes larger than Sony. Can actually buy Sony.
Sony can't really respond. Not in any measurable or equal way.

Bizzare, BioWare, Double Helix, DICE, Angel Studios.Well yes. It would definitely get a very different reaction, as the situation wouldn't really change for anyone. If MS would've basically funded some studio for years for exclusivity and then bought it, wouldn't that feel way more natural and expected even?
Neither here nor there. The gaming community reacts according to how moves affect their platform of choice. There are users who stated they never needed to buy Xbox because they have PC, a huge amount that stated that there was nothing that Microsoft could do to convince them to get their console. That is this very community. This is the same community that stated that Microsoft needs to bolster their first party output yet will complain months on end when that is done.Buying an established third party publisher or developer will always have a very negative side in how the gaming community reacts to it. It's perfectly understandable and there's no way around it. It might be where this industry is going, but it still isn't a good thing as a whole.
Some of us would just like to see better quality games coming out on Game Pass day and date.I'd really like to see evidence that Microsoft have learned how to better manage studios and projects before they gobble up even more of the industry.
They need to drop hardware business if they plan to keep doing this. Hoarding all those devs just to sell your always-third-place platform is not a good plan. Literally for everyone.
