Minecraft Legends includes online campaign co-op and competitive multiplayer options. Form valuable alliances with your friends and lead strategic battles to defend the Overworld together.

Versus modes
Public game: 4v4
Private game: 4v4, 3v3, 2v2, 1v1, 4v1, 3v2, etc.
Training: Host up to 4 players in a training session to fight against computer

There is no splitscreen play. For 2 players to play in the same room, one can play on PC and one can play on xbox.
For 3 player to play in the same room: One can play on PC, one can play on the xbox, and one can play on the Nintendo switch.

Cross play multiplayer available on all platforms

So i've seen some gameplay vids and i am very interested in this as it looks like a ton of fun but is there meta progression or something? Sounds like you beat the campaign and can just do a new random generated campaign?

I'm not aware of a meta progression unless they bring ranked pvp down the line

The game looks super fun. Really excited to play this later today! It's been way too long since we've gotten a decent rts designed around a controller.

I think coop and pvp is meant to be what keeps you playing. There seems to be skins and mounts to customize but idk how they are unlocked. Money or in game. The campaign itself is like 20 hrs or so i hear

Yeah i guess i'll wait and see, doesn't feel worth it to me then if that's the case as i hate pvp. Coop seems fun but we'd have to get multiple copies then which fuck that, why you do no local coop???

I dont think the gameplay is conducive to split screen. I imagine it would be very cramped and hard to control with building directions and targeting attacks and all. Unlike Dungeons which is fairly simple to control and what needs to be in view.

No couch co-op with this one, right? If not, I'm thinking I can play on PC Gamepass and my 10 year old can play on the XSX with his account, hopefully that works.

Yes that should work. Its crossplay. You can play on your account (which has Game Pass) and then your home console xsx will share your sub entitlements with the other accounts such as your 10 year old. So you can simultaneously play together. I do this with Sea of Thieves all the time.

I might stream it to my steam deck for some "couch co-op" at some point. I've done that for a few games that don't have split-screen support and usually it works well enough.

Wonderful, hopefully this won't be too complex for him. This would be his first foray into the world of RTS.

I fully knew what to expect, and I'm not going to say I'm disappointed. Because I'm really not. But in 2023 to have a new Minecraft game and then have really high quality cinematics that look like an evolution of Minecraft graphics with better lighting and textures it just feels a little like a letdown of what could be.

First technical impression on Series X:


It seems to run in native 4K60. Which is pretty nice and super sharp.
Tho, it has aliasing from hell and basically everything in the back shimmers like crazy, like everything, textures, grass, details. That's pretty terrible on Series X. Does PC have better settings here?

Also, I'm not sure if the 60fps are stable but the camera and movement scrolling is weird, or if the game simply can't hold 60fps and my VRR is constantly working, but it feels weird.
It feels constantly stable but at the same time stuttery, as if it's almost 60 and VRR is working, you know what I mean? I'm not sure how to describe.

I was surprised that after watching the trailers and gameplay it felt like they changed the general graphics style but after playing natively now, all they did was adding an cell shading comic like outline to the normal Minecraft graphic.

It's ugly as ass and I hate it with passion, but that this is just an outline means there is no excuse for us to not have an optional option to deactive this shit to play in beautiful OG graphics. I really hope they will add this soon.

I'm not sure about the avatar rts thing. Only played 20 minutes of the tutorial and campaign though.

The first building Mission was stressful as hell, that you can't pause the game in any way also doesn't help. 😅

Don't really know if it's for me for a full campaign playthrough. Controlling with controller also feels a bit much and not too great.

Good to hear the game pops on an OLED. Really curious to see what their plans are for long term support, they did an interview where they mentioned that there would be post-release content.

Versus mode lets you choose a training option that looks to be pretty good for people who want to play against the AI instead of real players. You can do co-op with it too, so might be a fun alternative to just the campaign mode.

Very fun so far. Hopefully they patch in more settings to fiddle with on the PC version.

Thanks. Such a shame, was hoping to play this with my daughter (she's playing by herself currently). Guess we'll have to stick to the normal Minecraft for that!

Is there a way to control where the guys you spawned and have following you go or does it just do it to some predetermined area ahead of you? Was hoping to be able to set the flag point but doesn't seem I can. On Xbox.

No, you can't set a spawn point location. This is where the coop multiplayer aspect comes into play so if you have 4 players playing. One person job is to just rally the units and move units forward.

Is anyone able to get any resolution other than 1080p in the PC Gamepass version?

I've tried both window and full screen and changing everywhere between 720p and 4k and it is just stuck at 1080p

Also, what in the world is going on with the VO in this game?

I have two people talking to me during the tutorial... one of them sounds like they are talking to me from a 100 foot well underground

So is there really no extra unlockable skins or mounts in a $40 game beyond those monthly lost legends that give one skin as a reward? Like no goals to strive for? Just more microtransactions to get new looks? Completing a campaign looks to take less than 8 hours. It's really sad there doesn't seem to be post game stuff to do or unlockables to collect.
