Mets reportedly calling up Corey Oswalt who has looked pretty good in the minors and this spring when I saw him. I wouldn't think much of it but considering Wheeler is up for the start tomorrow then this means someone is getting sent down from the bullpen or there is an unreported injury.
So Wheeler and Oswalt up and two of Robles, Sewald,or Rhame (all have options) down unless, again, there is an unreported injury.
It would seem a bit odd to send Rhame down at this point.
It could be to just get a fresher arm up for a bit, I guess.
I mean it's early, and a single game.Anyone else watching this pirates/cubs game on right now?
Pirates look like the better team this year. I find it Pretty crazy that the Cubs window was only two years and they needed an epic collapse from Cleveland to get the one ring they did get.
Like I have been telling you, they're not a horrible team! Atkins has done a decent job filling in some of the major gaps in the roster. Barring a big injury plague, they should be able to challenge for the 2nd wild card.

I agree: What you just said is pretty crazy.Pirates look like the better team this year. I find it Pretty crazy that the Cubs window was only two years and they needed an epic collapse from Cleveland to get the one ring they did get.
Remember when cubs fans were just lovable losers? Now they got a taste of winning and forgot what that felt like and over react to every loss
My Mariners are lovable losers!! BUT some day we're gonna win the big one !!Remember when cubs fans were just lovable losers? Now they got a taste of winning and forgot what that felt like and over react to every loss
Same thing happened to the Red Sox.Remember when cubs fans were just lovable losers? Now they got a taste of winning and forgot what that felt like and over react to every loss
Another dubious mark was set Monday in South Florida, where the weather cannot be used as an excuse. Only 7,003 people showed up to watch the Miami Marlins lose to the New York Mets, the lowest paid attendance in Marlins Park's eight-year history. In six home contests against the Cubs, Red Sox and Mets — three teams that one would think would be good draws — Miami is averaging just 14,443 fans per game, down 29.1 percent from an already-low average in 2017, when the Marlins ranked 28th out of 30 MLB teams in attendance.
Oftentimes, when people say something is a counting stat in a baseball conversation, they really mean a cumulative stat (as opposed to a rate stat). The technical mathematical definition probably isn't on their mind lol.People argue this, but it certainly is not according to any reasonable mathematical definition.
"In statistics, count data is a statistical data type, a type of data in which the observations can take only the non-negative integer values {0, 1, 2, 3, ...}, and where these integers arise counting rather than ranking."
WAR ranks people and not by increasing whole integer numbers, by definition it cannot be a counting stat.
Also, it can decrease over time or be negative due to the player's performance or how the field of other players performs, which means whatever is being counted has an extremely variable meaning depending on the year. And that is also not counting.

??Dodgers (3-6) and Yankees (5-5) are both off to slow starts. They're the favorites to play in the world series iirc the preseason Vegas odds correctly
It's April.
Pirates who couldn't even get past the WC game at thier peak is already talking shit. Damn....
My Mariners are lovable losers!! BUT some day we're gonna win the big one !!
Watching the Mets game yesterday, seemed like Mets fan outnumbered marlins fans as well
Rizzo has an OPS under .450 and is on the DL. It's ovah.I wouldnt say anything about "this team is actually really good this year" until like after the ASB
I remember watching that one Pirates video where they had one of their best records ever going into the ASB and then they didnt make the playoffs
The Cubs love starting slow too, no way in hell is their window closed with people like Rizzo and Bryant performing at a high level
Trade him to the Red Sox and blow it up
Astros freefall incoming.
You're not kidding. Red Sox fans did a complete 180 since winning the WS back in '04.
