Mobile phone Era; SquareTrade Warranty on imported phone - yay or nay?

Considering buying a new phone on eBay... Seller seems reputable (99.5% positive with hundreds of phones sold)
The phone is an import (compatible with my carrier, yes), unlocked, so no US warranty by default. So I'm thinking about doing the SquareTrade 2-year warranty add on., but that's an extra $80.

Anyone here have experience with this kind of thing? I've never even consisted it until now.

I'm reading very mixed things about SquareTrade... sounds mostly like their warranty can be crap if they will do anything they can to avoid helping you out when something does go wrong.
