Its really strange it doesn't run at 60fps. Like REALLY strange. No 60fps, no buy.
Even MH4U on New 3DS runs in higher fps than 30.

Whatever the reason I still dont like it, lets see on future games or G rank versions
this gen so far Capcom x Nintendo relation have been the weirdest. Capcom saw tons of success on 3DS, was likely teh 1st 3rd party shown Switch prototype, Nintendo took direct feedback from em. and yet they have been giving Nintendo the most MEH support. Bethesda, the company that publicly shamed the WiiU and complained that "Nintendo never asked us what do we wanted for their console" been trying harder to support Switch
and there is always the thin foil hats conspiracies (although likely fake)
The original reason given was cause they wanted parity with the 3DS version this had Cross play with in Japan. But there is no 3DS version here so let's fix that framerateIts really strange it doesn't run at 60fps. Like REALLY strange.
ill wait to after E3 for that.As far as Nintendo and Capcom? Seems like they are working stuff out these days right?

I just don't understand why old fans of MH take every oportunity to shit on World instead of using that energy to get people to try the older games.
It'd be nice to see something like a "MHW new players, check out GU on Switch" thread with some comparisons and shit.
For melee weapons, sure. For ranged though, it's a whole different story.MHW's control scheme is not modern. It's default controls are almost identical to MHTri which was like 10 years ago lol.

Do give brave style heavy bow a go in MHGU, I bet you will like it more than anything you ever tried ;)
I honestly haven't seen this happen in this thread, or at least not to the extent I've seen World bashing. The same can be said of World fans blasting games they never played.
which should not really be that hard given is MT Framework, and tru Switch is not a power house, but MHW could remove lots of Texture, foliage, polygon count and fit on Switch.
options are that maybe Capcom didnt saw it profitable due to Sony deal for Asia exclusivity, like what would be the point of a World downgraded port if it will miss the market that more likely will eat it up (JP)

If anything, I've seen tons of people excited to try this game after only having played World.
Mostly. You create a room, only 4 people can join it (I believe not 100% sure) someone posts a quest, people join it, poster starts it.Old school right? You create a "room", people join in, you press start?
I really liked the XX OT title "The World is not enough"
XX already did MEH cause it was mostly a compilation of X at full price. game already was ported on Switch, gods know what pushed Capcom to finally localize it.I guess MHXX is an easy port and a test on Switch to see how many potential sales it can do.
Perhaps MHW will be ported to Switch if MHXX will do awesome sales.
The same can be said of World fans blasting games they never played.
This might be a little too explicit with the low-key shade, but I got a chuckle out it all the same.
There may be something there but it still wouldn't make sense. Why would Sony pay them to not release a Switch port of an old titlethe west for a year, but allow them to do it in Japan where World is exclusive to PS4?

Apologies, my mistake, & you're right MT Framework is an excellent engine that's been used extensively in other Capcom games. That being said, MW:H still pushes the PS4 & Xbox 1 to the limit & it's worth being at least open to the possibility that putting it on switch would be take time & resources that could be used elsewhere & it doesn't necessarily make them "lazy" for not doing so.maybe MH:W would help cause Mainstream recognition of the brand, but at the same time same said main stream is extremely graphics oriented and many of the "convenient" changes in world will be missing
im 90% sure they scrapped that, and just when with UE4, the only new engine they have used is whatever they used for RE7
World is MTFramework. one of the most scaling-able engines ever.

It's a bit more limited but as a result it is more focused. It forces people to cooperate, something the SOS system dilutes.
Old school rooms are a blast if you find a good group willing to cooperate. They are miserable if you cannot find a good group, specially with randoms.

Apologies if this has already been answered, but is this the japanese version from last year just translated for the west?
Yes, I think that they've made some tweaks to past localization projects and they'll most likely be removing some of the licensed armor sets but there's no official word yet on any changes so more than likely it's just a translation.Apologies if this has already been answered, but is this the japanese version from last year just translated for the west?
Yeah this is the localised version of XX.Apologies if this has already been answered, but is this the japanese version from last year just translated for the west?
Oh yeah, I didn't say that about the Sony bit, just that it's interesting that it's indeed a year later, nearly day for day, like some other recent exclusives. There may be something there but it still wouldn't make sense. Why would Sony pay them to not release a Switch port of an old titlethe west for a year, but allow them to do it in Japan where World is exclusive to PS4?
Western market, probably, was the focus. World given Asian exclusivity is enough over an old, months-before-World release of MHXX in Japan. XX in Japan (3DS/Switch) came out nowhere near World and it was exhausted largely by the 3DS even earlier, and then you have the announcement just after that cut off the legs/appeal of XX Switch.
Seems fairly par and explicable. So 365 it is. :P
Should be patchable, but they have no reason to do it.Should be patchable on Switch right?
Just dont know if the effort will be made but it should be passed on as feedback cuz why not
from my understating is a mix of Visual Candy. and ill believe either capcom emselves or something on the engine dont mix well with Open like worlds give the terrible performance issues some parts of Dragons Dogma map had
I've yet to play MH, so if reviews are good... I'll jump on it.
I don't know why it wouldn't. MH4U and Generations both had excellent reviews.I doubt the game gets great reviews.
It's an somewhat decent but not great port of an expansion of a 3ds game. After Generations and World, I doubt reviewers willl have the time to go into G-rank, and that's where the game gets new stuff.
Online? Local play PSP had region lock, as me and my cousin discovered trying to play FU together for the first time lol.Though the 3DS ones didn't work mainly because I believe of the region blocking.
As on PSP it was fine.
Generations has stuff like hold a button to gather instead of pressing multiple times, and the speed of gathering is faster so you don't have to crouch to quick gather.Last game I played was 4U so yeah I guess generations had some improvements I wasn't aware of.
To activate brave mode, fill up the brave gauge by firing at the monster. You can fill your gauge faster by using brave reloading.Tell me more. I only played about an hour of Generations on 3DS a long time ago. I mained bow in MHW though. What do I have to look forward to?
To activate brave mode, fill up the brave gauge by firing at the monster. You can fill your gauge faster by using brave reloading.
Once you're in brave mode, you will be granted the ability to do crouching fire and the ability to run and slide after a roll/reload. During a slide or a roll, you are also able to cancel and instantly go into crouching fire mode. Do note that you will lose your brave mode over time and in order to maintain the gauge, you would have to keep firing at the monster.
Below is an extremely high level gameplay demonstrating brave style heavy bow in MHXX for Switch against a max level Bloodlust Diablos. I will spoiler it just in case:
Then my recommendation is to try to make some online friends whenever you cross paths with a good player.Hummm, gonna be playing with randoms mostly :S And online, not local.
If this works like the other 3DS Monster Hunter titles, you'll be able to add players directly to your Switch friends list, bypassing the other methods entirely. Then my recommendation is to try to make some online friends whenever you cross paths with a good player.
I have absolutely no idea how the friend system works on the Switch. I made a few in Adhoc Party almost 10 years ago just by playing MH and that was a convoluted mess so I guess you should have no problem nowadays.

I think the only way we'll truly be able to move forward is once we have an idea of what Ichinose and his team's next game shapes up to be like. Then we can just have a nice idea of what to expect from console and "portable" MH's respective directions, going forward.I mean its no secret the amount of chaos MH scene has had over the past few years
Thankfully maybe we can move forward?
Hey now, there's always that family sub sharing to consider!Platform wars bro
In an ideal world Gen would be coming to PC/XB/PS and Switch would be getting World, but at least the games are being localized now. My only issue is I'd need to pay for another online service if I wanted to play with my boy Ridley.

This is pretty much exactly where I'm at. I just want more Monster Hunter, particularly on the go. I love MHW, but I miss some of my classic boys. Zinogre would have been amazing in World. I'm also just super excited to have Monster Hunter on my favorite piece of hardware at the moment.I can't wait to get this. I've put plenty of hours into MHW and I love its QOL improvements, but I'm willing to take a step back into the classic formula for more content. MHW is fun, but I just wish it had a larger monster roster. The save transfer feature is enough for me to guarantee a purchase.
The way the rooms work and the search function let's you set things up well though. When you start a room, you can select from a huge number of 'targets', and state that the room is targeting any monster in the game, taking turns to post a quest, grinding a specific quest etc etc. The room host can set it to private, kick people out etc. If you start a room saying 'x quest', and pin the quest up on the board, everyone joining that room knows your intention. I used to set up a specific room for when grinding an item or looking to advance on an urgent quest, and 'round robin' rooms (everyone posts a quest in turn) when just playing for fun. For the most part, the community is great, and if not, it's really easy to just leave, join another room or start one, put the kettle on and wait for fresh hunters. I rarely had to wait long.Hummm, gonna be playing with randoms mostly :S And online, not local.
